CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 2, 2010 Unless you count Queen's Gambit, lol. :D What's wrong with QG? It had (to me) decent amount of content with good quality. New models, units, sounds, two high quality (for me, needed) variations of Sahrani, pluss Porto where I had a lot of fun. It provided a lot of good learning source for the arising mission maker who wanted to learn some more. Sure, a few things you can complain about, but that is also the case with BIS provided content - always some bugs there that nags you out of your wits... Iirc, my only reason for not using it more, was that "most" people didn't like it or even have it.
Zipper5 74 Posted June 2, 2010 The units were all buggy and badly textured. Some had no blood textures at all. The buildings also had issues with LODs and texture variations. The campaigns were very sub-par, SaraLite was the demo version of South Sahrani brought into the game, United Sahrani was basically Sahrani with a few minor changes here and there. But Porto was indeed great, as were the new songs and animations brought in. However, in my eyes it was a rather poor expansion all in all that never really had it's issues fixed which, I presume, was because of its unpopularity. However, I still bought it because I like to support BIS, and I didn't want to miss out on content made with QG. I'm not bitching about it, but I'm also not sugar-coating it. Still, let's not take this too far offtopic.
jakerod 254 Posted June 2, 2010 I would love to have ArmA go World War II. It wouldn't have to be a real battle or anything like that. It could be an invasion of some island in the med or off the coast of Norway or something like that which is vital for aircraft or some research purpose or something. Or it wouldn't have to be an island at all just a fictional country near France or something like that maybe. There are no "good" world war II games out there now a days by which I mean there are no open-world, any vehicle, command a platoon, first person, tactical shooter kind of games. Most Mods don't really cut if for me either. I am sorry to say that but I would rather have an official game. I really wouldn't want a Vietnam one. I think the Jungle would be a lot for the engine to handle and I am really not a fan of jungle combat. Also I am kind of sick of fighting with M16s, SCARs, and AKs in all the games these days. I would rather go back to the trusty M1, Thompson, BAR, Sten, Bren, MP44 and Karr. I would miss helicopters though.
Yoma 0 Posted June 2, 2010 I wouldn't be against a WW2 Arma, i've allways liked the WW2 mods for OFP and Arma. The big downer for WW2 scenarios is that helicopters didn't quite exist yet (except for some odd test device) However it does have a lot going for it in terms of less effective weaponry, tanks, aircraft. No more fire and forget for anything. However what i would like even better is some 60's or 70's African war.
Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted June 2, 2010 ooohh... South African equipment, APCs, Howitzers etc... They could even work nukes in there, and diamonds obviously.

Transportation is a big issue, though, I am sure someone (I would) volunteer flying those magnificent big planes. :)

Not very tactical, but it would be fun. I would be more interested in the ground combat aspect.
