kroky 1 Posted April 30, 2010 The situation: Sometimes you get a no fire command (with red stripe on the icon) and then if you are the group leader and commanding a vehicle no AI's will fire because you (the group leader) has a no fire command. Does anybody know how to disable it on yourself? On the AI mates you would simply press 3 then 1 which is fire at will. But how about yourself?
EDcase 87 Posted April 30, 2010 Thats strange I don't think I've ever seen my own icon with NoFire when I'm in command of a squad... Maybe try 0 - 1 (Ready)?
kroky 1 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) 0 -1 and 0 - 2 doesnt help. It happens on some strange situations. I.e. when a unit you are commanding gets into the cloud of gaz grenades (ACE2). Or when you are under command, then get no fire command, then you move up to control the squad. Edited April 30, 2010 by Kroky
scars09 9 Posted April 30, 2010 who gives you the no fire command when you are the troopleader? scripted? i think as soon you break the order the order should be gone, maybe get out vehicle, fire a shot and hop back in.
AnimalMother92 10 Posted April 30, 2010 I've wondered the same thing, if you spawn a group set to "Hold fire", even if you are the group leader you will have the red cross over your icon.
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Could be used as a reminder of the current ROE (used in EW campaign). Even if you're leader of your group, you are still under some other command, who might have given you this order. Don't think it can be canceled other than by script and waypoints. You could be leading a fireteam, part of a squad. The squad leader has issued Hold Fire, so it shows up like that for you. Even if you're a Squad Leader, you might still be part of a platoon, and given this order. So it makes perfect sense for me, and makes an efficient highly visible reminder to your order. Edit: Tested in editor. No, simply setting combat mode in editor waypoint doesn't cancel it, but you can use this in a waypoints "On Act" field: {_x SetCombatMode "RED"} forEach units group this Edited April 30, 2010 by CarlGustaffa
