Tankbuster 1746 Posted April 24, 2010 It does work as you describe it. You find the addon and slap them into a folder, but I wouldn't put them in the addon folder. You need to create your own addons folder and put them in there then reference that from the server command line. Armaholic has a good article on this. It describes, in option 2 how to install the addon on your game, but the process is the same for the server. It'll be easier if your server is running Windows and you have access to the command line. With Linux, it's still possible but you might need the help of your server provider to set things up. ---------- Post added at 06:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:46 AM ---------- As to the addon itself, there are a few about, but none of them are what I'd call comprehensive. VF AI Extension modifies a small part of the AI behaviour. GLT DAI is very good, but not easy to set up for the inexperienced. Guess what im looking for is something that makes my AI abit smarter, right now (playing evo) i can bomb the crap out of a town and half of them still stay put. kdjac 19 Posted April 24, 2010 OK been reading up, one thing i dont get (nothing new)All i have to do is install it on the server and it will have an inpact on all misions, no matter if client have the .pbo's or not? yup and no so if you have Ace or Zeus running it will overwrite the missions AI and effects. ie players will get tired whilst playing an non ACE mission and be sniped from 5 miles away with by an AI with a handgun using Zeus If you have ACe running on your server and the mission doesnt require it i can join without ACE and not get tired but someone with it will get tired. Hi kdjac It is not helpful to miss inform people looking for advice, even if you are just using hyperbole. I have never experienced sniping from 5 miles away with a pistol packing Zeus AI and I play with it all the time. 1) Zeus AI DOES NOT increase the accuracy of any weapons or AI soldiers. 2) It is physically impossible for a pistol round to reach 5 miles in ArmA heck I do not think a pistol round in ArmA will travel 500m never mind 5 miles. There is a full description of what Zeus AI does here. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8688 The fact that so many servers use Zeus AI should tell you that it improves ArmA. ;) If you want to test what it is like before you use it on your server come and play on the Zeus Server on a Thursday or Sunday night. Zeus run a Yoma's repository to maintain addons so connect to the Zeus Yoma repository a couple of hours before game start at 7.30 in order to download the required addons. Inkompetent 0 Posted April 25, 2010 The tricky part (regardless of if you use ACE's AI, Zeus AI, SLX AI, or whatever you can lay your hands on) is often to configure it to suit the playstyle and difficulty you want on the server. Play around with the skillEnemy, skillFriendly, precisionEnemy and precisionFriendly values in the server's config for whatever difficulty setting you use. Jan.K 10 Posted April 30, 2010 Well...wow :) I usualy been able to do the side mission rather easly in Domination, added ZeusAI both on server and on my client just adding the values recommended in the readme..... i freaking keep dying, hehe. But having mutch more fun now, lots of "where the hell is he!?!?!?" moment just to find AI actually using trees ect as cover firing at me not just standing out in the open. Having one issue tough, dont know if this is AI addon problem or the mission, its {Op4}Bsilenced's Queshkibrul port, the armour AI are realy passive, i can run past them pretty mutch and they will just sit there. now on towards my next question: Mando Missiles, i understand this correct that all i need to do is add it to server, and on my client then add the game logic to the mission? i should rename this tread to Jan's n00b dont have a clue tread :D Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
