Can any of you reply and say what mod is best for each item? * Blood Trails. * Larger Blood Pools. * Better gun sound effects (especially those that whiz by you). * Better distant terrain. * Cratering. * Better fire/smoke. Actual terrain = new map, better skybox painted-on terrain, none exist yet, the only thing that does is my addon that removes those mountains, so I don't expect you'll be interested in that :D * Better fire/smoke. jpinard 10 Posted February 21, 2010 DMarckwick - thank you so much for responding! If I can get my pancreatitus to calm down a bit (pain) I'm going to have one heck of a fun night with these mods. For the distant terrain, I'm using maximum textures and moderate ansitropic filtering, but all the land terrain texture looks horrible beyond ~200 yards. I wouldn't mind it being so ugly, but it's very hard to pick out enemies against that background. On another note I think I'd seen a post where someone replaced some of the ambient stuff like grass and bushes. Also, do you have a suggestion for a mod that creates craters from large bomb hits? It sounds to me like you might have your game visual settings set up poorly. Try making sure that the rendered resolution is AT LEAST the same as the displayed resolution. So that's 100% or more. I have it set to 125% which allows me to switch off AA. Otherwise, you're rendering the game at a low resolution, and stretching it to fit the screen resolution. It's confusing I know, but it's worth getting right. Also, do you have a suggestion for a mod that creates craters from large bomb hits? No I don't know of any unfortunately. Mysteryman5150 10 Posted February 21, 2010 (edited) DMark- Don't so be modest your FX rock dude:D. Sound FX you could try Hi-Fi sound or CSM2. Have you gone to the Armaholic page yet and looked thorough their downloads. They are broken down into categories. http://www.armaholic.com/ Just in case you haven't gotten the link yet. Most every mod released ends up on Armaholic so it's a great resource;). This game absolutely rocks, if your willing to spend a little time doing addons and even learing how to mod it yourself a little bit. Then you can tweak it to your liking just a bit :).
