Thanks a lot for enjoying it even though its only 5fps! :) Yeah, its really heavy, even for my system but I am very glad it did what I want it to do, which is to capture the essence of war and the feeling of war and to put players through a form of experience. :)

I am amazed you got in with James on that humvee!!! hahahha!!! Yeah, it takes serious computing power for James to figure out how to drive out of the base and away from the conflict. So if your rig is underpowered, he may just sit there and think forever. James drove me out of that shit a few times before so yeah, it actually works...hehehehe... hey, have you tried lowering VD to the recommended level? VD will kill your system and you don't need long VD for this mission.

lol having a lot of fun . . . tanks are kickin my @ss though :P can't get the silly javelin to lock on.

otherwise i'm sittin in a tower with the SMAW . . . and the one time i finally killed the tank . . . i got shot and laid there up top where the AI couldnt revive me! haha

I'm gettin ~20fps with my system, so its playable for me ;)

But I think I can help ya out with increasing the performance too :)

Yeah, I found the Javelins useless in the mission due to the extremely short distance the tanks already are in when you are able to spot them. Thats why you are armed with SMAW right from the start. :) Remember you can team switch when you get yourself in that kind of situation where the AI won't get to you. What ending did you get? Will ask you more details when I get on msn tonight.

Jeez, you weren't kidding about it being hard on the FPS, I was getting about 9fps in the heat of battle, too low, need to see what I can change.

I was running around like an idiot throughout the entire mission, people were telling me to go here and pick this up, but I had no idea where it was. for instance I got a message telling me if I was able bodied, to get my ass to the eastern wing (where?) I guessed it was the right side of the base, then when I got there I got a message telling me to go to the armoury and get a AT weapon (where's that?). I then ran around like an idiot again looking for the armoury. The base then got overrun by tanks and we had to surrender.

Great mission, what ARMA was made for, I just wish I could get more FPS for a better game experience. It would be good to have a bit more direction though.

We managed to kill all the tanks this time, and got a message that the Chinese were on the way 15 mikes (that long, yikes!), well we managed to hold on and it was almost peaceful. I then got a message from a sexy oriental lady ;) but I missed what she said, I then heard one of the soldiers say something about APC's, but I couldn't find any, I ran all over that base, I even triggered the AT gun mission which I completed along with Razor team. But the mission didn't end. on the way back to the base though I saw someone running and shot him, "Blue on Blue" came the shout, damn, now I have to go fix him up. on teh way though I got shot and bled out before anyone could get to me :(

Liking the mission, very chaotic as you would expect it in the heat of battle.

PS your missus did a good job on the voice over :)

SD, glad you enjoyed it!!!! Jesus, you are one of those people I was concerned if I could satisfy! hehehehe! Well yes, the performance issue is one that will be tackled on the next update and I hope you would be able to better experience the chaos...ehehhe, indeed, chaos is the word and some of the misdirection is intended because in a real battle, sometimes you can't find your way around the most familiar of places and then there are people shouting at all kinds of orders at you. At least that was my RL experience. :) Well, the level of realism isn't where i would like it yet because ArmA2 is very limited in terms of the human factor so I can only do the best I can for now but I can assure you this is not the best I can do. :) I will strive to produce even more realistic battle scenes in future.

Hell! I can't believe you completed the AA gun mission with Razor team! You are one kick ass player!!!!!!! I tried so many times and either razor team or me would die. In fact, I wanted to add an extra scenario there where friendly A-10s provide air support after knocking out that gun but I didn't yet have the time to do so.. probably in the next update.

You are very near the main ending... you should wait til the OC tell you to get the hell out through the PA system, run out the East wing to meet the PLA APCs out there, hop on and then go. Actually, how the mission end really isn't important at all as long as you have enjoyed the experience. It does seem like you have not triggered all the scenarios yet, so, still some replayability there.

Yes I played it but had some Problems. This Mission nearly got my PC on his knees.

First Problem: I was unable to heal anybody, or it would take endlessly long. Thats because of the high CPU usage I think (Damn I have a QUAD Core!!!!)

Second Problem: after going out with Razor Team the whole Thing became a slideshow (Really mean it this way) Shortly after that Arma Crashed.

The fact that my PC was already working the whole day may have to do with the Problems

I´ll try it tommorow again when my PC has cooled down (Have an exam today)

Appart from the Problems: Really great Mission. Best word to describe it: Pure Chaos as you would expect when a FOB is suddenly attacked from all sides

@TONCI, yeah... so far, it seems like only the folks with quad core above 3ghz are playing with decent frames... did you lower visual distance to 1000m as recommended?

For the healing, did your character play the healing animation? The BIS healing is short or long depending on the degree of injury. The more injured, the longer the healing, that is why you must drag your injured to a safe place before healing or you will join him in the stack of injured...hehehe

Thanks, Yes I lowered the View distance and yes it played the animation, but only after waiting like 10 seconds or so

@TONCI, yikes! It seems like having arma2 play realistic large scale battles with a finite number of enemies really isn't that feasible as the AIs seem to suck up a ton of computing power. I was even planning for a city scene with at least 300 civilians for the next mission! jeeezzz....

well, I decided to give my old PC a spring clean, and, OMG, the CPU heatsink was full of fluff. I cleaned it out had a general tidy up and BINGO 20fps through the entire mission(well maybe a dip down to 17 in places) I can now play this mission properly. I still haven't finished it yet though.

@soupdragon - I did the same to my rig to get this mission runnin at playable frame rates but boy is it worth it! I still gotta beat it too though lol

Please tell me what your experience is especially with such a kick ass rig! :)

It runs around 22 FPS at 5040x1050 all maxed GFX (view distance 2300m) except AA, cool chaotic mission so far, got 4*. :)
