SP - Operation Jackal's Hunt

I switched to an M4 but the HuntIR display is not showing anything after firing the round. Any idea whats up?

Hmm, not sure. Are you sure its an Ace2 M4?

top notch mission, liked it very much. I ended up with 3 guys left to raid the market. Plenty of ammo and bandages. Medic system works great. (remember folks to use your right windows key-you have to examine first and then apply the required medical supplies).

One question? I cant seem to trigger the end of mission. I ened up in the area of the market, my last task, but nothing happens, so I think im at the end of the mission but not sure? is it suppose to end with a cut scene?

Did you complete every objective? Even if you didn't take out the stinger teams I'm pretty sure you still have too . . . but I'll check.

Otherwise are there any non completed objectives?

How did you guys complete the market raid mission? I am getting creamed. I have tried all sorts of things but these damn guerrillas are just too good :)

Give me some pointers please , best tactics etc.

@SD, go to the hill on the south of the market, line out your men, get prone, leave one of them on the MG in the humvee and then kill them all! :) Useful if you are using a sniper rifle.

@soupdragon, flank around the market to the hill on the south and kill all of the stinger crews, then:

an AH64 will fly in and pretty much kill everything else. This is being reworked in v1.1 so it wont be soooo easy ;)

and concerning v1.1:

Oh you guys are gonna hate me . . .

The final battle and pilot rescues have been reworked, lots more baddies going random places, attacking from random directions hehe . . .

Plus don't rely on air support so much in the final objective, he'll help ya out a lot, but you'll still have some killin to do ;)

I'm just play testing everything at this point but I'm pretty sure 1.1 will be the last version :D I've changed and tweaked quite a but throughout the whole mission, so you should get better performance, less predictable AI so every play through should be different, and a much more appropriate climax battle!

i thought i had done all objectives-

do we have to blow the weapons cache in the market with a satchel? Or hunt down all enemy in the area?

I didn't do either of those.

but seriously i love this mission

Just take out all the guys in the area, its like a 200 or so meter area around the market, but its all open so you should be able to find em all ;)

Did you get the AH64?

For whatever reason fate does not want me to finish testing v1.1 . . . either I screw it up or the game CTDs cause I am trying to run too many programs at once lol. So I'm gonna go play in the snow, but just to let you guys know its all coming along great, and now it produces a real challenge! ;)

You should get a new Objective while on your way down there to:

take out the stinger missile teams on the hill behind the market. Let me know if you didn't get this one . . . which would be odd. Unless of course you swam to the southern island . . .

I cant see any stinger teams, I have sneakes around the back and taken nearly all of them out, but no chopper arrives. and this grass is a right royal PITA, I can't see them because the grass is in the way, but they can see me from miles away.

Give me a clue please, where are these stinger teams? I've spent nearly 2 days trying to clear the naffing market and I think I'm going stir crazy ;) ( I play with veteran settings so I have limited saves........ maybe I should change that :) )

Directly south of the market, mine is a large hill, can't miss it. The market itself is in front of a huge, though fake, mine door. The hill that the fake mine is in is the one I'm talking about.

The map coordinates are Bh through Bi (left to right) and 99 through 00 (top to bottom), can't miss it ;)

Also, check your objectives, make sure you have the one telling you to take out the stinger teams, if not then I gotta figure out what went wrong with that. Because if you have that objective in your tasks, then you should also have a marker on the map named "Stingers" or "AA" or something like that, which is located right in between the three teams.

I have no stinger task.

I don't know where it went wrong but IThe last thing I did was plant the thermite on the chopper wreck (that brought up the save pilot mission) on the way I found and reported the IED, killed a few insurgents at the factory then carried on to the market mission. And thats where I am now, no stinger/AA mission.

Should I start again?

Thats not the market I thought you were talking about

You need to go to the pilot in the city and "rescue" him (itll be in your action menu when you find him). To help you out the pilot is right where that marker is (give or take a few meters).

That'll add your next objective which is:

to find more evidence, which is a map located on the table next to the pilot (cant pick it up until its added to your tasks). From there you'll go on the real battle ;) (which in v1.0 its cake once you get the AH64 to roll in, but no worries, I'm fixing that as we speak ;) )

I just finished play testing v1.1 . . . still got some bugs to work out, but I should have this done by Monday at the latest, depending on if there are any more issues when I play test it tomorrow after work.

So far I'm liking the BIS First Aid system simply because it works 99% versus the 50% or so Ace2 worked for me correctly. I'm pretty sure I cracked my right windows key because of how many times I would pound away at it and it not work . . .

Otherwise:

expect a much harder time rescuing the pilot. I could do it on v1.0 in 20min or less . . . now it takes me a few tries and plenty of reloads lol ;)

The Final battle worked much nicer in theory, still had one bug that prevent a whole . . . . well you'll find out ;) You can still snipe away at all the baddies, but there will be plenty you'll have to engage close up. Plus theres just plain more of them! haha

I'll ahead and spoil this one for you all too:

I am having BIS wounding for Operation Iron Fist because it leaves plenty of soldiers on the ground struggling and needing first aid which is very realistic for my scenario...so i think which wounding system to use is really up to how you want your scenario to play out.

yes im only able to stop my own bleeding but i cant seem to figure out how to heal my team m8's.

ok im going out for the island (last two objectives i think) stingers and weapens caches...

so far its realy a great mission

i specialy liked the part where u have to rescue the pilot....

no no.. thank u for making such a beautifull "complete" mission.

i was sitting on the edge of my chair from mission start untill i finnished great mission..

almost forgot to say that the ace "CQB" system doesnt work

when i press the button nothing happens i tested it to see if it works at all,

(to see if it is not on my end) but in the editor it works just fine....

tested different weapens (ACOG,RCO) non of them worked,

the same with extracting bipods or weapens resting,.. doesnt work...

Glad you enjoyed it! Just wait until v1.1 ;) Better performance, reworked final battle :D

Only the Ace 2 weapons can use this feature, but I would have this issue even with their weapons, usually after I reloaded a save after leaving the mission (exiting the game, then coming back). Regrettably Ace2 technically doesn't support single player, so while it does work fine most of the time, there are gonna be bugs (like this) that the Ace 2 team wont fix :/

Yup, the "problem" with the ACE wounding is the random breakdowns and the lack of injured struggling units. Usually, if you don't reload, it all plays out quite smoothly. :) The breakdowns usually happen after reloading.

im having the same trouble. First thing that went wrong is

pilot died on me so that task never completed, but the task remained open even though i tagged him and the VO came on telling me to proceed

next task was to

raid the market. i did this and enemies in trucks keep coming, maybe 5 technicals in all. i drove all over the hill, thought i got every enemy but still, no task to take out stinger team or any chopper. do you think its because the pilot died?

im going to restart mission and try again

No need to restart, Pilot is supposed to die. You can heal him, but you gotta select "Rescue" in the action menu when looking at the Pilot, at which point he'll die irregardless because I've scripted it :P.

You'll report him dead and be told to search for more evidence, which is located on the table next to him (its a map, the money on the table is just for show). That will tell you to go and raid the weapons market and ammo depot which is located way down south on the map.
