76 0 Posted January 26, 2010 Looks good, massive addon requirements have always been my downside. But I'll give this a shot. ;). me too :( Same with most public servers and addons, cept ACE :j:
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted January 26, 2010 Well, I can only say its worth it guys. :) I played and replayed this mission due to the kind of atmosphere and realistic (but still interestingly gamey) mission design.
therev709 10 Posted January 26, 2010 I'm about to release the final 1.0 version. Mostly just a lot of changes to the voice overs, removed a broken ACE gun, and a few gameplay tweaks. For the most part the mission will remain the same, and the addon requirements will not change. ---------- Post added at 02:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:17 AM ---------- me too :(Same with most public servers and addons, cept ACE :j: I personally like using people's addons, considering they put a lot of time and effort into em, so why not use em? Besides, I'm bored of the same ol Marines and Ruskies . . . I like variety ;) However, I don't (or try to at least) require addons unless they're being used and vital to the mission. @Jason - did you catch the youtube video I posted on page 10? =kct=blackmamba 44 Posted January 26, 2010 boy do I envy you lol. I'm pretty sure most networks in the US have the same capability, but the nodes on the ends of the networks arent updated to handle those speeds.Anyways, have you tried the mission without using the AS50? I had the same problem when I began with the rifle also, but no CTD, just the error message. I'll be looking into this issue with ACE2, but until its resolve I'm going to remove it from the mission. I've edited some of the voice dialoge at the beginning of the mission, as well as fixed a few nitpicky things, and removed the AS50, so expect a new version release soon for Cold Harvest. As for OP Jacka's Hunt I'm still just waiting for all of the voice actors to send in their recordings. I'm gonna knock out the intro to the mission today. so far the as50 is the only rifle that causes trouble.. yes thats wat i mean abouth the network. its the same over here your home computer is always the weakest link. "glassfiber" networks are invented in the 60's. but last year the-netherlands started to build this network for home use, so the complete country gets connected on the fiber network, in abouth 15 years from now its finished. we are the first on the planet building such a network for civilian use.... no more shared connections, u get what u pay for... jasonnoguchi 11 Posted January 27, 2010 ...mmm.... some pretty interest elements added onto this mission! Its time to do this mission a third time now! DOWNLOADING!!! :)
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted January 27, 2010 Completed Cold Harvest for a third time. :) The new interview police thing was pretty cool and adds to the RP of the mission. Did the mission this time 100% sniper...hehehee.. carried all the TAC-50 ammo I could and killed EVERY SINGLE baddie with it from as far as I can. My squad mates were on hold fire throughout the whole mission! hahahaha! that was fun and a good practise of my long range, short range and instant combat sniping. :)

And good job with all that close range combat sniping . . . I'm assuming you used flashbangs when entering the building to rescue the hostages ;) Also, did the baddies inside the buildings put there weapons on their backs if you flashbanged them? Whenever I would they would do the animation, but then return to their original position without holding their guns, making them completely defenseless . . . it has something to do with the set building position script I think. jasonnoguchi 11 Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) hehehe, I tried to snipe all the baddies from the outside but one of them was lying down so yes, I entered using a flashbang and pistoled the guy... sigh... ok 99%... :( By the way, the flashbang animation is designed that way. Its nothing to do with how you put your units. Just go to editor and drop a flashbang on yourself and your weapon instantly goes to your back. You will then go through the struggling animation for a few seconds and then grab the weapon again. When I got into the building, that guy I flashbanged is already in the process of bringing up his weapon and I gunned him down with his AK in his hand. I didn't get the situation you described... a glitch? Edited January 27, 2010 by jasonnoguchi
therev709 10 Posted January 27, 2010 Some units are using a script to place them inside of a building, while some are just using a setatl syntax. The ones who are inside of a building because of a script wouldn't take their weapons off of their back after the flashbanged animation . . . If you play it again try it on the baddies in the first safe house location (and the barn). Any bad guy who is on the second floor of a building (or in the first floor hostage room) will take their weapon back.
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted January 27, 2010 Oh, ok, didn't know that! :) Those guys in the first floor of all the houses didn't have a chance and didn't know what hit them....hehehehe... its that guy up in the second floor whom I flashbanged... ok, will test that out too. :)
therev709 10 Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) sitrep on Jackal's Hunt: It is finished. But me being me I want to add one last bit to the final battle . . . so its gonna be another few hours lol. @jason, sle, kMan - I have class in a few hour so I probably wont be able to run through the whole mission to test to be sure this little secondary objective will work. Its nothing to complicated, but if i forget one little semi-colon in the script nothing will work right lol. Otherwise the mission will be completed, but I just would like it tested before it goes out :) Technically this isn't a beta, but a release candidate, if you guys are interested. It would save time and allow me to release it earlier, considering this is a 3 hour class (sidenote: the class I have today is my hazardous materials and explosives ordance class, taught by one of of the lead FBI investigators who was on the teams that investigated the Beruit bombing in '83 and the Lockerbie bombing in '88, really cool guy) Anyways, prepare for the Hunt!
