Vanilla multiplayer DM, TDM, CTF...

Hi everybody,

Simple question:

Why these game modes are not all selectable through mission selection screen ?

01: Deathmatch

02: Detector

03: Team Deathmatch

04: Capture the flag

05: Zone Control

06: Seize the area

Without using the wizard I can't select these gametypes for both Utes and Chernarus.

I just want to host a TDM game like in the demo.

What's wrong? Was it made on purpose?

Important note: the gametypes names may be inaccurate because I use the French version of the game.

They are selectable buddy ? on a dedi, at least never tried hosting one.

Wizard mission are wizard missions and not standard missions.

In other words wizard missions contain dynamic elements that can be changed.

With some experience in .sqm code editing, you can make a wizard mission a normal

mission and move it to mpmissions too.

Anyway just go MP, host, wizard, select/build your missions and let others join once ready.

No, not all. With Utes I can only select:

01: Welcome to war

First to fight

With Chernarus i can only select:

01: Deathmatch

02: Detector

03: Close Combat (CQB?)

04: Civil War

05: Super Powers

I don't want to edit anything, i was just wondering why these missions were not in the list like in the demo. They were really fun and easy to launch.

If Deathmatch is a wizard mission how come i can select it in the Chernarus mission selection screen?

Here i'm talking both hosted and dedicated, I get the same mission list.

If in the demo these were no wizard missions, BI probably saved a copy of each as

standard mission. These are then not included in the full game.

You can very quickly make one with this tool... :-)

In the tool, go to File/New. choose the gametype you want and click Finish. Then choose a name for it.

Then open up Arma, go to Multiplayer/New and choose the mission you want.

Edit it (including moving the markers around), save it, and then play !

Takes about 2 minutes :-)

Be warned, the tool is in very early stages so is missing some features.

When I played the Demo I loved the TDM game so when I got the full version I wrote a very close replica which I called Town Beach. I also made a TDM version of the Close Quarter map which I call Depot Station.

Currently I have my TDM missions in Version 1.03 and will be releasing after I make some minor tweeks, but the tweeks are preference changes. The mission plays extremly well. Some things I want to add are Heli attack support options so that when 1 team has accumulated X number of kills a Heli Attack comes. I got that idea from COD 4, but this attack will come automatically after a team has reached the threshold for the attack to come. TDM games are fun and should be basic, but the added achievement option can prove to be useful in competitive sessions.

Also I currently have it so that when you place your crosshair over a soldier it shows their tag, but I want to modify that so that it only shows your team and not all players. Some may like to see the player name before they kill them, but I think just their own team should give the tags, lol.

To compare the Demo TDM to my versions the difference is how the playfield is restricted. n the Demo if you leave the playfield area your vision is impared and you have to move back in to get your full vision back. In my version the playfield is surrounded by the danger signs and if you go outside the play area you die from land mines. If you are looking for a version like the Demo feel free to PM or email me and I will send what I have to you.

I don't want to release the V1.03 to the public yet, but I can at least send you what I feel are very fun missions. My email is tomanger@comcast.net

Replied - you can check some of these out by joining the [uRC]PVP Survival server. We're one of few that have a 24/7 PVP gaming server with great mission layouts. Players can choose A&D, DM, TDM, C&H, and more to try out and game in. We take all sorts of requests even when people criticise things about our missions.
