jw custom 56 Posted December 22, 2009 getting serious crash to desktops whenever trying to preview something on any map, this is crazy and has now happened after the new patch, any ideas. From this post -> http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1520689&postcount=102 <- i can see you had this problem before patching to v1.05!
blackpulpit 10 Posted December 22, 2009 yes but only on 1 map in particular, now it seems it is any map.
rexehuk 16 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) I can confirm this issue also... really irritating me. Previously ran Arma 2 with betas no issues. Now I load a map and will randomly crash but it's strange. Arma 2 doesn't CTD I can see windows cursor Upon minimising to desktop it seems Arma 2 has somehow initiated polygamy into two separate parallel processes Any ideas to fix it would be greatly appreciated. Bulldogs 10 Posted December 23, 2009 If you're using any mods, disable them (for testing purposes I would suggest removing them from folder altogether) Also try running the patch again. It won't attempt to patch any files that are already patched but if some files didn't get patched then it should do it the second time round (You may want to download the patch from a different source for second attempt. I downloaded one of the torrent ones myself and it was corrupted, downloading from another source fixed the problem)
tsb247 0 Posted December 23, 2009 I would also like to confirm this issue. I have had trouble loading my campaign in progress, and it would CTD unless I 'Reverted.' Once I restarted every mission I had a saved game on, it would work alright.
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 23, 2009 That's not a bug. After every patch you have to revert to the start of the mission you are on. This is due to incompatibilities with old data and new data.
jw custom 56 Posted December 23, 2009 People before these reportings can be taken serious you must NOT use ANY mods, so no other islands than Utes or Chernarus can be used!

jw custom 56 Posted December 23, 2009 what the hell???is it the end of the mods?? Yes when you test you do it without any mods running to rule them out from causing whatever problems you may encounter, pretty simple actaully :)
Aelin 10 Posted December 23, 2009 yes but after testing you can restore the mods right?or do you say that all the mods have to be reworked??

Well, that's good to hear. Although, I do not remember having to do that with v1.04. Then again, it's been so long since I patched it is possible that I have simply forgotten. jw custom 56 Posted December 23, 2009 yes but after testing you can restore the mods right?or do you say that all the mods have to be reworked?? Some mods have problems after patching to 1.05 but i'm sure the authors will fix these issues quickly. I have not experienced any problems with the mods i use including ACE :)
