Shoot2Kill 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I've began to notice that when i have my AA on ingame, the edges of any object are turned white when it has smoke and sometimes shadows as a backdrop. --- I.E. if i look at smoke my gun would have its edges turn white. I've tried upping my filrate to take away jagged edges but all i got was lower fps and only little smoothing. Could this be a problem with my card? :( Plz reply and thx in advance
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted December 13, 2009 Nope, there is almost nothing you can do with the white outline against shadow background problem. Its an engine thing.

no use for a name 0 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) This is why they didn't put AA in the first release to begin with...because it caused problems with shadows/dark backgrounds (I don't think the game supports AA transparency/gamma correction); but the majority of people requested it so they put it in. The only workaround is to use a higher 3D (render) resolution. Luckily I can use a 125% 3D res w/ 2xAA and still get decent FPS; and the white outlines aren't noticeable. But really I only noticed it when I started using the JTD FireandSmoke addon and the sky would fill up with plumes of dark smoke. Before that it never bothered me Edited December 13, 2009 by No Use For A Name
