bobba 10 Posted December 10, 2009 I found this link, http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=77396 but it had no answers to the problem I am having. I can't install that patch nor any other patches, along with A.C.E mod, i get this error. Game worked before i uninstalled it to reinstalled it, i have reinstalled it three times now, so please don't offer me advise as to reinstalling it, because that seems to not be working. Registy seems to be fine as in the location and stuff... edit: i love snipping tool on windows 7 <<
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted December 13, 2009 if this is a beta patch, are they not incremental only? Have you patched up to the previous version before trying to apply 1.04? Also, try decompressing the file and then running it.
trickster1982 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I got messages like that after installing the previous two official patches, so i completely uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, added the patch & then it went away. Dont know what the problem is but a clean install seems to fix it :)
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 14, 2009 What version of Windows are you running (32 bit or 64 bit)? And where is your registry key (standard or WoW64bitnode)?
Madmax910 10 Posted December 22, 2009 Hey Chaps I have the same problem. i have tried reinstalling the game several times. i have the 505 English version 1.01. Tried installing both the European and international versions to no avail. I found a patch from 1.01 to 1.04 and that seemed to work fine, but the larger 1.05 patch won't run. It says the same thing: "ARMA 2: Armed Assault is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted". i tried pretty much all the patches, all versions... No luck. i checked in regedit (didn't want to do too much poking around in there coz I don't really know what I'm doing!) and I found the Bohemia Interactive folder under the WoW6432Node if that helps? i'm running Win 7 64 Ultimate Any ideas? Your help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks M
-RIP- Luhgnut 10 Posted December 22, 2009 if it's the Steam Version, here's how I fixed. 1) Go into your Programs x86 directory/steam/steamapps/common/arma2 2) Delete arma2.exe 3) launch steam and right click on Arma2 4) click properties 5) Click local files 6) click "Verify integrity of game cache" It will find that arma2.exe is missing, it will re-download it and then make the correct changes to your registry. Then beta patch as normal.
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 22, 2009 Madmax, under the bohemia interactive folder (in the wow6432Node folder) check the Arma 2 folder and make sure it's pointing to the directory that you installed Arma 2 under. Alternatively, uninstall the game, then goto the area in the registry and delete the ArmA2 folder then try reinstalling and patching.
GhostNThaMachine 10 Posted February 7, 2011 Luhgnut, TYVM. I have searched and searched for a solution to this problem. All I have found is indifference and sarcasm from people that apparently have never had this issue. I had a boot sector virus. I got rid of it, and when I did, it corrupted ArmA. boom! 10 Posted September 9, 2011 @MadMax Initially I had the same problem as you. I have the original arma in (let us say) path1 eg E:\games\bi\arma and the steam version of OA in \blah...steamapps\why\ etc (path2) because I installed OA with steam (why:mad:). Basically you need to open regedit and find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Arma 2 OA You should see a list of the keys. If there isn't a key called MAIN create it (a string value) and type in the path of where it is installed (path2) then try running the patch exe again... you shouldn't have to reinstall the main program again.. a waste of download..
