60902 Draw Distance reduced again?

Recommended Posts

Is it only me, or is the draw distance for objects reduced again to pre-60522 values? 60899 is still really nice, but in 60902 objects pop in way to close for my liking.

Did you test by setting VD to 10000 and place tanks etc at 4-5000 meters away? Sit in a vehicle with powerful optics like cobra gunner position, and look at the tanks in clear weather. If you can see them at 4-5000 meters then thats what i saw before the last beta.

Will test when i get home.

Yeah they have always been invisible to me lol. Some PK offroad is "gone" at 150m. But that has been since day one. Its not fixed even though the report have been for months.

Im busy atm, but i have a fairly good memory of the drawdistance pre latest beta. I run NORMAL obj.detail however. Have to crank it to Vhigh to see tanks real far. I remember i did a tank battle on Gnats Sands yesterday and i saw the tanks 3700m away. That is further than before when the drawdistance was only 2000+m.

Yeah, there is some invisible view lod for that technical. I can't say I've noticed anything indicating the view distance stuff would be reverted though.

I also witnessed this with certain choppers that they disappear very early, even though VD is set much much higher...

Is there a bug for this already?

i didn't really test it, i only played a little around with planes in the armory on utes, and - unlike the last beta's - the trees disappeared quite early, like in pre-60522 versions. but it`s not measured, only the feeling that something changed. that`s why i asked if others maybe experienced the same... btw, i have my vd set to roughly 4.500 and object detail to very high. have to check it properly, compairing the versions.
