The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted April 2, 2002 With all this talk of C-130 and other transport planes it made me think of how they got the armour on to the island in any case. So I suggest someone makes us some of these...if only for aesthetics, scenery like the LST. This is the LCM-8. It is capable of carrying an M60 or 200 troops. And here is a LCU-1600. It can transport 3 MBTs or 400 troops.
Eviscerator 0 Posted April 2, 2002 wouldnt the usmc's hovercraft be better?
The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted April 2, 2002 Well maybe...but I want something that fits with my campaign that runs along side the Flashpoint and Red Hammer ones in 1985.
§nake 0 Posted April 2, 2002 I like number 2... as long as it moves like a boat.. not the BMP or BRDM.. it takes 5 minutes to go 50 meters... but the hover craft will be cool also.

STS_SolidSnake 0 Posted April 2, 2002 "We need Everything" A Landing craft would be great ONLY IF USEABLE NOT AN LST DUMP Or a HoverCraft

That's why I suggested it as such.
P8ntM98 0 Posted April 6, 2002 i know i've said this a million times but I'd like an AAV-7 or LAV. The hovercraft would be awesome too though.
Benze 0 Posted April 6, 2002 How about an AAAV? Better protected than a m2, can move through water at 25 mph with 10-12(forgot the exact number) fully loaded combat troops. Has a 25mm chaingun and a m240, smokescreens, and can keep up with MBTs.
LordZach 0 Posted April 6, 2002 usable would be nice. i've had a few missions that include beach insertions and having a M113 or M163 as fire support just isn't as fun as landing a M60
RedStorm 0 Posted April 6, 2002 Too bad you can't use them for landing men on a beach. They would just appear at the side of the boat, which IMHO looks rather moronic
LordZach 0 Posted April 6, 2002 i tolerate that since the game is so damn good

§nake 0 Posted April 6, 2002 last night, I played a mission with a few friends online...  it was a stormy rainy night...  it was me and a buddy versus a pair of hinds that our other friends were piloting...  I went off the east coast of everon while the two hinds were hot on our six..  but it was so dark you couldn't see anything, and we vouched not to use lights... note: we were in an AH-64 so we are heading off the east coast as I realized to myself...  they will catch us..  and since the hind is so much more powerful...  it would be pointless.... So I pulled back on the stick and brought the chopper strait into the water...  it was about half in...  when my friend asked me what the hell was I doing (the gunner with me)  I quickly shut off the engine, and the apache sunk into the black abyss, as it took about 1 minute to go to the bottum...  sure as shit about 2 minutes after the two hinds came flying by above me...  I fliped on the engine switch.  and hit that throttle HARD...  it took 2 hellfires to take out those 2 hinds when we reached the top...  moral of the story... bugs are good... in some cases... and we need some type of watercraft/divers

Burner 0 Posted April 7, 2002 We need a Aircraft carrier too , there is 2 aircaraft carriers , one for Troops, chopper and Harrier and the other one is for combat planes like in top gun
The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted April 7, 2002 I think carrier based fighter jets would be out of place in the OFP world. Just a personal thought, but they go too fast and air to air combat isn't well suited to the OFP engine. Still I would download them if they become available, wouldn't be bad at all in terms of cutscenes and eye candy.
P8ntM98 0 Posted April 7, 2002 If IL ever comes out we'll get AAAV's LAV's for amphibious landings and the carrier for the choppers and who knows since its based on the USMC kind of maybe they'll have the hovercraft that they use on the LHDs or LPH
