SpaceAlex 0 Posted April 1, 2002 I have had my CD since June 2001 and it's in great shape. You just need to be carefull with it. Â
Placebo 29 Posted April 1, 2002 Yup I've had mine since June 2001 too and it's immaculate, it's the only cd I've ever taken good care of Resistance is an addon so you will need the original Opf cd. Codemasters have a faulty CD replacement policy, no idea how much it would cost you though, contact their customer support
deathguy 0 Posted April 1, 2002 You should always take good care of your CD.
Hidden 0 Posted April 1, 2002 I have had mine since it got out in Europe too, not a scratch. You will probably be able to have it replaced. It is not free, but at least better than having to buy the game again. Get in touch with Codemasters support and tell them you need to have the CD replaced. Best of luck anyway. When you care about something, always be gentle with it Hidden
madmike 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Mine rarely gets to leave the hard drive. The case has been used as a mug coaster by some bugger but it just need a wet wipe
Hidden 0 Posted April 1, 2002 It might be a good idea to buy a pack of high quality DVD cases. I collect DVD movies, and when I buy PC games they come in a DVD case too. Many DVD movies, however, come in crap quality cases, some people even manage to break the DVD as they attempt to take it out. IMO, high quality DVD case means a feather touch button which with a gently touch release the DVD with a soft "click". They are a little bit expensive but well worth the money if you would like to keep the CD-R/DVD longer. Hidden

On a more serious note, if the problem is with scratches on the CD, you may want to get one of those contraptions that can polish them out. I have one sold under the name CD Doctor, and it works quite well. I bought it when a friend had scratched several music CDs she uses when teaching, and some tracks couldn't be played at all beforehand, while others skipped badly. The CD Doctor was able to fix all CD with the exception of one, where one single track remained unreadable. The thing costs about US$ 20, and saved a handful of expensive, hard-to-replace CDs you can't get at your average music store.

Placebo 29 Posted April 2, 2002 I've used "Duraglit" in the past to remove the scratches that stopped a music cd playing, it's a kind of metal cleaner in the form of an abrasive wool pad type thing, sure prolly not the most ideal thing to use on cds but it worked for me
deathguy 0 Posted April 2, 2002 never needed to use one of those thing, i'm real carefull with my CD (espacially ofp )
