randir14 10 Posted October 23, 2009 I'd rather play Bad Company 2 than Modern Warfare 2 anyway.
Chaostika7-17th 10 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) DICE cares about PC gamers my ass, they didint released BF:BC for PC and they took years to develop a patch for BF2 oh yes man, dice better ain't open their mouth to much after that patchorgasmatron @ bf2. alteast the mods like pr, poe and opk saved the game 4 me in the beginning and didn't need patching! vanilla sure needed patches, but in my eyes, vanilla+ranked ~ just sucked and finally brought us ranking to fps games on the pc which literally killed teamplay + costs for a ranked server for 150 euros/month when it launched! what bright ideas! sry 4 offtopic *caugh* Edited October 23, 2009 by Chaostika7-17th
TimeDeatH 10 Posted October 24, 2009 They also did it on inifinity wards move for no dedicated servers: http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/10/21/out-of-touch-infinity-ward-gets-rebuked-by-dice.aspx
Chaostika7-17th 10 Posted October 24, 2009 thx 4 the link timedeath Now, taking a page out of DICE's book… "Battlefield was born on the PC, it grew up with dedicated servers and even when it left the nest and became multiplatform it remembers it's roots. We're doing the PC version of BC2 right. We won't stomach a console port tossed off to some "lesser" studio like our competitors chose to do. We've got our top PC devs working on the PC version side by side with the console team. We don't do ports. It's not the game we'd want to play, and we know it's not the game you want to play either." good to read, just hope dice will remember their roots much longer than codemasters or infinity ward, although dice still have to convince me again after bf2
Leopardi 0 Posted October 24, 2009 oh yes man, dice better ain't open their mouth to much after that patchorgasmatron @ bf2. DICE Canada was in charge for the patches in 1942/Vietnam/2. They effectively ruined 1942 and 2, but now DICE Canada is sacked so I have high hopes for BC2. It was stupid to let people who hadn't been making the game to do the patching. Result was stupid chewing gum fixes being applied and everything went worse.

Madus_Maximus 0 Posted October 24, 2009 It's obvious this would have dedicated servers anyway considering the game is aimed heavily at the whole multiplayer market. It'd be outright retarded for them not to include them based on that. It's an MP game first and SP game second, and judging on other BF games, more like 3rd or 4th priority lol. Turns out they are from the PC community and were so happy about our dedicated server tweet this week they wanted to give something back to us, the developers. Awesome, thanks a lot guys! source: http://www.fpsadmin.com/ Edited October 25, 2009 by Chaostika7-17th

txalin 2 Posted October 29, 2009 And here we go again, another game fuc***, if u buy the collectors edition u will have: - Wallhack cheat - Undestroyable tanks - Automatically detection of ieds - One shoot one kill pistol - A powerfull m1a1 sigh...
Maddmatt 1 Posted October 29, 2009 And here we go again, another game fuc***, if u buy the collectors edition u will have: It's not a collectors edition, it's a limited edition. Meaning the first so many people who pre-order get that, the rest get the regular edition. You can also unlock those things in the regular edition apparently. It's just that the limited edition gets it from day one. Anyway, seeing such stupid unlocks has made me change my mind about this game. I was interested in it but it looks like it's just aimed at children  Lame kiddies game. Next.

Zipper5 74 Posted October 30, 2009 Wow, people complaining about a realistic heat sensor, but not about IR-seeking RPG warheads... I think it still looks awesome, personally. Just wish I didn't have to wait until 2010. :(

I didn't watch the youtube video. Who cares if they get that in the collectors edition... not like you are going to be able to use that crap online lol. Zipper5 74 Posted October 30, 2009 I didn't watch the youtube video. Who cares if they get that in the collectors edition... not like you are going to be able to use that crap online lol. What? Of course you are. What makes you think you can't? All trailers so far for BC2 have been MP videos, and this one is as well. And to be honest, it's not that big of a deal. For example, that motion sensor seems to only work when inside a vehicle, where there aren't many of. So not a big issue. Also, what MP game do you know of that didn't have some epically unbalanced rifle that you can only unlock at a high level/buy the special edition/earn an achievement/completing a kill streak? It's a reward for putting that much effort into the game. It only makes sense to give you it.

It doesn't make sense to reward players for wh0ring points :/
Zipper5 74 Posted October 30, 2009 It doesn't make sense to reward players for wh0ring points :/ Eh? In ArmA II and games similar to it, of course not. But that's the point of these other games. No teamwork at all, get as many points as you can and, in some cases, in the most creative fashion that you can. But that's the point of MP in games like BC2, COD4, etc. and I love it because of that, so yes, it does make sense. I play ArmA II and other games for two very distinct MP playing styles, and I enjoy both.

So you are saying you are going to be able to use the following online as quoted per Leopardi - Wallhack cheat - Undestroyable tanks - Automatically detection of ieds - One shoot one kill pistol - A powerfull m1a1 A Wallhack cheat? Ummm, no, this isn't going to be something used online... unless it is being described here wrong. Undestroyable tanks - What would be the point of playing anything else... The rest I don't care about.
Zipper5 74 Posted October 30, 2009 Have you watched the trailer? It really isn't a wallhack cheat, it's a motion sensing device built in to vehicles that lets you see motion behind walls and such. The tanks are also not undestroyable, they can just take more damage. And is the automatic detection of IEDs really that different from the bomb squad perk in COD4? I never play without that perk. The pistol is more-than-likely not one-shot-kill, I think they just had it look like that in the trailer for dramatic effect. Finally, the Thompson looks like it's going to be as powerful as the one in BF1943, which I never found to be unbalanced.
txalin 2 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) Ok, little update, DICE confirmed that those "carcteristics" will be available for anyone, but people who buy the limited edition don't need to unlock it. Zipper, until i can remeber, on the video the t90 receive a direct hit from an m1a1, one shoot from a chopper and a few rpgs.... maybe it's not undestroyable, but seems to be that it's really hard to destroy it. And regarding the wallhack, what's the point of telling to the player where is that rpg guy hidden? those tanks seems to be the ones who will win the battle, no matter on how many choppers u will have, with one of those tanks, who needs anything else? Don't know, but seems to be that they have made the same that they done with the choppers in bf2, with a good pilot you have more than a half of the match. ArchangelSKT 0 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) Well I do not really like things like this as I want most players to stand on equal ground and not have to many advantages. It will however not prevent me from getting the game I guess as I do somewhat look forward to it. I say somewhat because it does not have 64 mp for PC and I am really looking forward to BF3 basically so for me Bf BC 2 will be nothing more then a title to hold me over, if it even manages to do that with 'Mafia II' and 'Silent-hunter V' also being on the way. Also since BF BC basically came out as a console only title then I am a bit more 'humble' as to the PC version of the sequel as I would not really expect one initially at all, BF3 is an entirely different story however, though I have read rumors that it will be a PC title only, which I hope is true. But as I said, I do not like it, even though if I can recover my glory days in BF2 I should still do ok without it on my part :D Edited October 30, 2009 by ArchangelSKT
thepiespy 2 Posted October 30, 2009 i really love the battlefield series. But BC2 is still just a console port. How the hell did we go from 64 players in 2002 to 32/24 players in 2009? Is someone gonna actually push the boundaries on player counts that have been around for almost a decade?
