2 objectives 1 mission

I found that if you turn on the indercators (in the demo full game coming soon) there are like 2 objectives is this just a option on how to compleat the mission or somthing or is it somthing else I have compleatd the mission by holding the villege and nurlisng the threat at the air field (demo mission)
