NoRailgunner 0 Posted October 8, 2009 Often the AI dont stop shooting on vehicles even if they are destroyed. AI are using unguided rockets instead of guided missiles/bombs. Observed that AI wont pull off the trigger from rifles/machineguns if they are going prone or changing position - shooting somewhere else or friendly units but not towards the enemy. (AI problem since ArmA) Can such annoying issues be changed via FSM and how? Imho it would be better to have a default proficient AI that does know how to use different weapon systems for their own advantage (no cheating of course). icebreakr 3159 Posted October 8, 2009 I think BIS wanted to get rid of that feature we used so often against AI: jumping out of vehicle so it doesn't get destroyed... now AI knows that vehicle is your valuable asset on the battlefield and takes it out, hell they might even steal a car from a civilian :) And suppression works great. Place yourself on a hill and shoot at a enemy APCs and infantry 500m away. They'll start to lay cover fire and order flanking ;)
NoRailgunner 0 Posted October 8, 2009 With destroyed I mean those vehicles that are exploding and burning = really destroyed not only damaged. ;)
Doolittle 0 Posted October 9, 2009 I think you're right. They're just really really angry
NoRailgunner 0 Posted October 10, 2009 Dont think so - they're imho focused at destroyed targets and dont get info about the targets eg vehicle/crew status. Guess that some events have a higher priority and slowing/queueing others. Or does BIS silently change duo/quad core optimization?
Batstat 10 Posted October 13, 2009 I have only seen AI empty their ammo on targets, when in MP and the server has gone close to down or down (or under heavy load and lag). When the server don't respond it will in effect cause the AI to continue to shoot, because they newer recive info that confirm that the target is destroyed. Yes I agree that the AI in Arma II, in what I presume a better way ensure that used enemy assets is destroyed. In OFP (if I remeber correct), the ai would often stop to fire at a vehicle once you bailed out.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted October 13, 2009 I've even seen T-90 (AI) firing with machingun nearly 4 seconds at dead soldiers  I suppose that the information about destroyed/dead units sometimes isnt transmitted and AI keeps on shooting until timeout. This happens in SP and MP.
Muahaha 10 Posted October 16, 2009 The AIs hates us cause we dumbed them down after 1.03....:)
