BronzeEagle 2 Posted October 8, 2009 where are these guys coming from? is there some type of plan to sabotage our happy forum?
33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) No this IS NOT a sabotage. I just need some info for making some addons. Im a rookie for mission editing. I am not like those two Gwa and Tiket. Don't compare me to them BronzeEagle. Watch out your comment BronzeEagle :It's bit flaming. Flaming is forbidden here. Edited October 8, 2009 by 33BO11OF00 info
W0lle 1051 Posted October 8, 2009 HELP. I unPBOed one weapon pack and there is just weapon info. Is the weapon ammo and unit info stored in another PBO? .I don't know if this is a right thread to ask this. So please answer this. I think that user Sanctuary might have the info what I need here. Maybe you enlighten us what weapon pack you unpacked? Or you expect us to guess it? If you want help from others then you have to provide as much information as possible without making a dozen of posts asking for details. I have a idea :This info what I ask is useful so let's make a sticky thread about it. Shall we? Comment this. Yes we should make that sticky as a perfect example for how not ask for help. 33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 That weapon pack was mm-1 grenade launcher. It only had 12 rounds and one clip. How can i get some more ammo in it and how to edit other weapons? Am i now clear enough. Stay sharp W0lle. I don't mock moderators. You rule.
W0lle 1051 Posted October 8, 2009 You don't get it... we need to know either the filename of the pbo or atleast from where you get it. The weapon parameters, values etc are all in a file called config.cpp which is included in the addon. Eventually it's called config.bin, in that case you need to convert it back to cpp. Someone who's still dealing with OFP can assist you better if you need to convert it back as I have no more OFP tools installed at all. 33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) The File name is :Mm-1.pbo. About my other question :How to edit those basic weapons in OFP. Like ammo count in the clip. Is that possible? In map editor you don't put weapons in map you put infantry with weapons in map. Which PBO the infantry models are in? Sorry. I'm bit confused here. I'm just a rookie for editing but I have made a couple of missions and soon I will release them at FileFront Service. One addon maker is also very good :Colonel Klink. Not to mention ProfTournesol, BronzeEagle, PhilCommando(Retired), Sanctuary,STGN and many others. Edited October 8, 2009 by 33BO11OF00 info *
rellikki 7 Posted October 8, 2009 You need to edit the config value "count" under CfgWeapons to change ammunation count in the clip. Most of the vanilla game models are located in data3d.pbo in the OFP Dta folder. Config definitions for them are found in in the config file located in the OFP Bin folder. Also, this doesn't seem like a mission editing question to me. Moving to Configs & Scripting section.
33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Sorry I didn't know the right forum and BronzeEagle if my post #5 insulted you then sorry about that. Hey take it easy I'm just a rookie here. In the folder Operation Flashpoint/bin is a load of info about the game. binview program can decode it. It's made by the chain of command. 33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) YeeeHAW! Mm-1 Ammo problem solved. Another problem is this :In which PBO are the OFP default weapons? Can somebody tell me this. Does the ammo modifying trigger that protection system in the game? Edited October 8, 2009 by 33BO11OF00 info
rellikki 7 Posted October 8, 2009 As I said in the last page, most of the vanilla game models are located in data3d.pbo in the OFP Dta folder, aswell as the weapons. Having a modified PBO will most likely get you kicked in multiplayer servers, so it would be wise to make a standalone addOn of it, instead of overwriting the original game values. 33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the info. I will make the standalone addons. I don't modify the main PBO. :) Unrelated info :I have test in a school tomorrow. Another BIG news: I get hang of that config.cpp file. Yeah! I can recommend this tutorial :Jesters Config.cpp list for not quite dummies v1.1 from OFPEC site. Useful info there. Where is the bullet models PBO? I want to make some bigger bullets. How to make explosive bullets? Edited October 8, 2009 by 33BO11OF00 info
sanctuary 19 Posted October 8, 2009 Download the 1.91 commented config from this list : http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1333116&postcount=15 Some BIS dev commented several lines, explaining a bit what they are really doing, it should help you to understand what to do. To make an explosive bullet, in the CfgAmmo definition of it, you need explosive=1;
33BO11OF00 10 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Thanks Sanctuary! Awesome help. That Visitor2 basic tutorial is just what I needed. Hooray Kegetys. Other links are also useful. Edited October 11, 2009 by 33BO11OF00 info
MarroKnight 10 Posted October 31, 2009 There are 3 general questions which I would like answered: I've downloaded O2 Light, O2 Viewer. I cannot use O2 Viewer, I wanted to open my PBO to go229_no_gear. For whatever reason I can't figure out how to open this exact addon file. I can locate the Gotha PBO, but when I try to open it, it says I cannot open it - and it closes. Someone please give me the file name for the usable go229_no_gear PBO, I can open the 3D of the original file, but I can't get the PBO to open. My main question is :How do I locate this file; My second question is -using textViewer how do I make a .paa or .pac file to use for text? I found a nice camouflage for the go229, which we all know is completely white. I can't find the main file though -so I can't actually retexture it. I found a p3d file of it-but it doesn't correlate to the actual in the game/add on file - and I was experimenting with textures - but I convert the JPEG files to GIF through paint, I get the GIF, I use textviewer to make a .paa file. I use O2 Light to texture my G229 p3d file, and I can't open the texture -there is an error. Someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong my e-mail is Mar221985@aol.com Again 3 Questions What is the file for go229_no_gear Why can't I texture using .paa files How do I combine everything after? Thanks
Macser_old 0 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Ok.What's go229? 1.You can't open a pbo with O2.You need to find a specific type of tool for that purpose.I use "PBox" as it does Compress/DeCompress. You could also use seperate tools like "UnPbo 1.5" to decompress. And "MakePbo" from the same author,to compress. These tools and more can be found here. 2.The viewer. What is the location of your O2 folder? Could you post a screenshot of the O2 options section?
