Open the properties of your Arma2 shortcut, at the end of the targetline put: -nosplash

If you start Arma 2 with the shortcut the splashscreens are gone.

Some of the ArmA launchers also allow you to use the various startup commands at launch.

You probably won't be saving much time as during the splash screen the game engine is loading. Your game engine will still need to be loaded regardless if you have the splash screens.

Yeah I use world=empty too but then I fire up my editor and I load the world for real.
