highfly 10 Posted September 28, 2009 how do you unlock the elements in the Armory ? Anyway to quick and easily unlock the choppers for example ? I hate locked contents. It's my game, I paid for it, why is it you don't allow me to use all the things I want when I want ? For example Gran Turismo comes with the best cars locked, if you don't play it hard enough, you never can drive the best cars. That's nonsense. I buy the game, if I want to play with the greatest car from minute 1, that's just my problem and I should not be forced to spend so many hours just to get my content. Same goes here, if I want to play in armory with the AH1z from the beginning, why is it you suppose you can forbid this to me ? I paid just like the others, now give me my content, come on. derk yall 0 Posted September 28, 2009 If you want, you can play with the AH-1Z (or any other unit/vehicle) in the editor without any restriction.:j:
highfly 10 Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Why am I not surprised about this out-of-subject answer ? yes, in the editor you can, I know, thank you, but you don't have the challenges that you have in the armory... and they're quite cool I think. anyway, my question was clear was it not ? I just and only ask how you unlock those things in the armory Edited September 28, 2009 by highfly
Teutonic Steel 10 Posted September 28, 2009 The best I can tell you is to keep doing the challenges that pop up. Find something (weapon or vehicle) that you really enjoy using and do the challenges. I just got the game last weekend and played in the armory on utes for hours just waiting for the "attack location" or assassination challenges while I flew around in the Su-25 or soviet warthog thing. Anyways I love it, something about shooting that 30mm cannon at an apc and watching the men run out for cover is great. Also I think its genius really because when you can't have the best gun or tank or plane the game has to offer, it makes it worth it so much more when you finally earn it. I can honestly say as I think many can, if I could play with the t-90 or Su-34 or cobra from the get go, the game would get boring to me much sooner.
liquidpinky 11 Posted September 28, 2009 While in armoury, press left shift and numpad - then release them. Type getallgear (all one word)and you will unlock all, have to do it every time though as it won't save the unlocked by cheat items.

For the fun you talk about, yes, except that after some time (maybe less in ArmA than in Gran Turismo), you get bored with the game, and if by that time you did not get the locked items, you will have paid for a game but will never have tried it at its best... that's what I don't like. Locked is ok, but not unlockable only by people playing 10hours/day.
liquidpinky 11 Posted September 28, 2009 I unlocked a lot so far with the BMP, it seems to be quite good for a lot of the challenges and you can accept most and use it for them. Unlocks seem to be purely point based and you unlock guns, vehicles and units etc while using one item. A good trick is to hang around the runways for when you get a distance or speed challenge start up, it is a lot easier to blast down the runway than a twisty road. paajtor 10 Posted November 22, 2009 *bumping this old thread* As the L-shift + Num- didn't work for me, I tried a different approach: - go to your MyDocuments folder, and find your >playername< ARMA2PROFILE File - make a backup of this file, just in case. - open it in Wordpad. - hit Ctrl+F, and locate the entry called armoryPoints - change the value to read 26000; - save the file-changes. Now fire-up ArmA II, go to the Armory, and find everything unlocked! This procedure is only needed once.:dance1:
JSj 12 Posted November 23, 2009 hI buy the game, if I want to play with the greatest car from minute 1, that's just my problem and I should not be forced to spend so many hours just to get my content. That's like saying "I want to play the end of the campaign from minute 1 if I want to, I shouldn't be forced to spend so many hours to get to it." Completing the challenges to unlock new things in the armory is a part of the game, just like the campaign and the scenario missions.

The game allows you to use everything in the editor, you can't complain for not having everything you want, when you want it, you big baby! The armory contains locked items that are unlocked if you finish the challenges or play the campaign and single missions. what are you complaining about really, I still don't get it. It's part of the game. here... I hate locked contents. It's my game, I paid for it, why is it you don't allow me to use all the things I want when I want ? They are locked in the armory and they are unlocked when you do what you must do. Do you complain about no being able to play the last campaign mission without having played the rest of the game too? Man, you are weird.
