Hey BronzeEagle, just want to let you know that I am a big fan of Code Blue, some really great stuff there! I've got one quick question for you though: the units in the mod are placed under a completely different faction. Is there any way you can regroup them under "West" so I don't end up having my Rangers killing off their best buds?

Just change in config west to east or vice versa. How do You like it. What's a problem ?

unless you're on the team whats done is done. besides you can do that by grouping them to an east leader and setting the leader's proability of presence rate to 0%.

as far as i know there aren't any technical issues and permission is not an issue since you're not selling anything. Personally if i do anything involving afghanistan i would use the dma middle east resistance.

you can make any mission you want, but for this to be a code blue team mission, there need to be some changes. The T-34 don't fit in with the time scheme or setting even if they got their hands on an old one, at this phase of the war wearing acu and marpat there would be no tanks on the ground. Those are blasted in the early phases. Villages in guerilla warfare aren't liberated that easily. Otherwise the war would be over. You should do a mission where they are searching houses for weapons and some people resist or something. Other than dma, which i favor, there are other taliban style addons you could use which have civillians with guns. this would better translate the unknown nature of the atmosphere to have civs with guns mixed in with the taliban units who look very similar. let me see, i think jjr made some afghan units that have civs with guns...

Thanks for the ideas. Is BAS Tonal rebel civilians ok? What do you suggest here? Give me some links please. I just thought that those tanks would give a surprise element in this mission.

bas tonal is a bad idea, some of the problems it causes to other addons cannot be overlooked, it was a very ambitious and overhyped project in my opinion, the island couldn't run good on most hardware at the time and the units caused model glitches in other unit addons. cat afghanistan has the ambient bombing soundtracks and various atmosphere files that really help it, plus i believe someone did a retexture recently.....

check ofpr.info, whichever one has civillian units with guns will work. we want to create the same atmosphere as the real afghanistan and force players to think, who could the real enemy be, and how to lure him out of a crowd of civillians the smart way.

I think this is the one we should use. The lost brothers arab pack has women and civs that throw rocks n stuff thats great. Now according to the videos and footage ive seen on youtube of airborne in the war, they mainly search houses for weapons cache's but each household is allowed one weapon. If that weapon is on the persons back then you can't shoot them till its pointed at you. A weapons crate or cache would be either confiscated or destroyed at that point depending on how large it is. I think they station at a base and usually have an lz near the area of operation to call in choppers for exfiltration, etc. The taliban generally plant booby traps and keep they're eyes on villages from the mountains, sometimes a weapons cache will be in a village but the general tactic is to expose yourself and hope they come out. Bait.

Yeah. that's just what I have suggested here. About those old tanks in mission. I thought about this kind of a story: Americans left some tanks alive so they have some target practice there.You know... Testing their tanks in "combat" situations.

your mission is like ww2, guerilla warfare is not that simple, oftentimes unpredictable and you don't know who the true enemy is, conveying this confusion in a mission is more important than just playing with cool addons.
