ArmA2 SLA Pack 0.9

Recommended Posts

Heh, yes, Phase II of the SLA Supersoldier Program is clearly to attach an auto-polishing belt buckle to them.

By the way, loving the ROMAK series and PSL being used here. It's also good to note that when you made your PSL you moved the fire selector from Safe to Fire. The BI SVD is stuck on "Safe." I am constantly amazed by Russian, CDF, and ChDKZ snipers who can fire with a safed rifle.

I will get that screenshot in a few hours when I'm back at the house. I will also see if I can replicate that texture error I had with the "SLN" Marines earlier: their jackets were VERY blurry, beyond what the shitty ArmA 2 LoD system normally blurs things out. But now they're crisp textures of a pattern I don't recognize: something you made up or something rare?

Edit: Link to the image here. [bollocks: Uploaded the 500+kb version, not the 100kb edited version by mistake. Sorry about that, Rellikki.]

That'd be the issue as demonstrated on a SLA (Desert) Squad Leader model. It's visible to a varying degree on all models. Your textures look slightly "plasticky" lately, I'm not sure what's causing that / if I just didn't notice earlier.

Hmm... this is a bug with the base soldier model, I could probably correct it, but I'll probably end up causing more bugs than I'll fix...

The plastic look is entirely due to my crappy attempts to add a used look to the uniforms... it works well on some textures... others not so much... I'll fix it in the final release :p

Alright. The texture improvement would have to be the priority, list the little oddity in the hem there as a known bug and leave it, I suppose - some uniforms do carry a shine, like the Russian Noch 91M, but that wears out with use. Best way to make the uniforms look dirty is to apply a good bit of dust and/or mud to the lower legs, knees and elbows especially.

It's a Georgian reservist.

Anyway, nice to see these fellas back to party, although I allready got so many factions and unit types lol.

Is there any possibility to include more armour and AA to make it more authentic ?

But, a very nice job ! Thanks ! ^^

Are you using the setobjecttexture command on the soldier? It looks like the wrong kind of texture is being used for the vest selection.

If not, it's possible that something else is triggering a setobjecttexture command for some reason (though I'd have no idea what would do that). Try putting the this line in a soldier's init field:

This setobjecttexture [0,"\HSO_SLAInf\data\Pilot_co.paa"]

That should recolour the vest to a solid green. If it doesn't, try using a trigger with a 20 second delay.

It could also be an issue with the standard texture, so if that fixes the problem, check this command to see if the error returns:

This setobjecttexture [0,"\HSO_SLAInf\data\SLA_co.paa"]

If this is the case, then it's possible that the texture has been corrupted somehow, the only solution I can think of is redownload the files, preferably from a different source. (though I don't think this is the case, as there would logically be a similar texture artefact on the arm...)

Re-downloading the file was my first thought but that didn't help. I'm checking the code fix you suggested right now

The code worked but it's frankly an annoyance to apply it to every unit, Plus I don't beileve that the woodland SLA Units used green vests to begin with they had tan/brown or something.

Yeah, they should have brownish vests, similar to the ones the CDF use.

Something's causing the vests to remap to the incorrect texture. Are you running any other addons that might do this? Disabling them should fix the issue. I can't think of anything else that might be causing this problem I'm afraid...

Just to be sure, try opening the pbo and check the file "\data\sla_co.paa" looks normal. If the vest texture's borked then that's definitely the problem.

I've found the problem. The error was not only found in the SLA pack but it was also in Vilas' weaponholder pack.

It was being caused by the Bundeswehr mod, more specifically, the Scripts PBO

I'll talk to them about fixing it, in the meantime I've removed that PBO. Thank you for your efforts
