"you 've been kicked out of the server"

Recommended Posts

Do this....

1. Remove the game completely

*** Be sure NO trace of the old installation remains before reloading!

- Rename or Delete folder C:\Users\%profile name%\Documents\ArmA 2

- Rename or Delete folder C:\Users\%profile name%\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles

2. REBOOT

3. RUN chkdsk c: /f /r (or whatever drive the game is installed to)

4. DEFRAG your installation drive

5. Reinstall the game

I know you say you have no addons, but the errors you are getting means that either an offical addon or something else has data corruption or is not being read correctly. (signature problems)

If this fails then just give up, cuz there is a problem with your PC hardware or some other variable that you will never figure out. Memory and Hard Drive is the most suspected and problematic things on a PC.

Good Luck!

Yes, like said, this is exactly what your errors say. Whether you've done so intentionally or not, the fact is that your game shows as a game with modified files and that's why some servers (mostly pvp) kick you out automatically - they just don't allow it. If you can't find a way to fix it, the easiest way is to reinstall the game.

now im going to give up about mp,i hope the admins of the 1 or 2 servers in which i can still play will continue to accept this poor and honest guy called "Aelin"

Hi Aelin

First some preliminaries:

*What version of windows are you running?

*Where did you buy ArmA from?

*Is it DVD or download?

Then let us start with this bit:

game reinstalled, but same patching errors as before...

*Were did you get your patch from?

*What were the patch errors reported?

*When were they reported?

Kind Regards walker

hi walker.i got xp 32 bit pro,i bought the dvd in a shop in my city, patched from the official site without choosing mirror cos i go to "patch details" then "download",the errors pop up during patching and they are related to different files each time i redownload, sometimes "sound" sometimes "weapons",ecc.i mean:

bought game; patching to 1.2 with some errors;patching to 1.3 other errors but different than 1.2 ones;patching to 1.4 no errors reported!!!;reinstalling all fine;patching to 1.4 errors....

Hi Aelin

You seem to be installing first one patch and then another and another; DO NOT: You only need to install 1.04 it supersedes the other patches.

Your answer is a little muddled and lacks specifics. Such thing always help. The install should have produced an install log. Read it and try to be specific about which files have failed to install.

Also under control panel, Administrative Tools check Event Viewer for reports at the time you did the install.

Make sure all your graphics and sound drivers are up to date.

A few other possibilities:

1) Your original installation disc is borked in some way.

Unlikely, as this would have shown in errors of your original install.

Solution:

* Contact retailer/publisher/BIS for replacement disc.

2) The patch you were down loading was borked in the download process.

Possible once, less likely twice, but according to NASA statiscally likely. (Why they use triple redundancy, and a whole bunch of maths that describes component failure)

Solution:

* Uninstall ArmA II

* Reinstall ArmA II

* You only need patch 1.04 re download it from a mirror and install it.

3) The patch you down loaded was borked at source.

Unlikely but better to be safe than sorry

Solution:

* Uninstall ArmA II

* Reinstall ArmA II

* You only need patch 1.04 re download it from a mirror and install it.

4) Your windows setup and or your windows security settings, or your windows user privileges prevents some files in the update from installing.

Possible.

Solution:

* Contact the person who admins your network and or the person in charge of your computer; the one who will have admin privileges. Have them use their admin privileges to install the patch.

There are other possibilities but those will do for now.

Kind regards walker

walker i really must give you a lot of gifts for your "help hopeless dumb people"passion.i will try your tips but now some details:im the admin of my pc.i applied each patch after the FIRST installation(i know i need just the last one now).about the details of the errors i dont remember exactly but next time i will give you them(if they continue to hit me).however do you suggest to install the latest nvidia driver?im always not sure in this regard.also im not english so my "comunication power" is weak.in any case i discovered why bis is the target of many complains i saw on the net(here and in other forums, net magazines, ecc.):the majority of the sim-gamers is between 20 and 40 years old, they study or work so no time to bother with strange issues(like mine cos i play since 5 years old and i ve never faced this kind of issue)or multiplayer hitler-admins who kick 100 honest player to get rid of 1 cheater or lack of editor guide(how does it cost a manual?+5,+10 euro?).i said this sadly cos i play arma2 with passion and i consider it the best experience i have on pc.

Hi Aelin

English grammar can be complex.

Some suggestions for your posts:

1) Use capital letters at the start of sentences.

2) Use paragraphs to keep sentences about the same thing together and the sentences about other subjects apart.

3) Use a linear narrative to describe your issue. (Multi ordinate methods is very advanced and outside the scope of this discussion)

4) Emotive language is for the purposes of persuasion and eliciting an empathic response, not for description of physical reality; such as a bug. (I do not need to told bugs are annoying, I already know this. I want to know what the physical appearance of your problem is not how you feel about it. ;) )

5) Bullet points and numbers help, layout your problem to make it easier for the reader to focus on the individual parts.

6) Describe the problem with increasing focus and fidelity! If you cannot describe your problem you are left hoping some one else has had the same and can read you mind; not very likely. If I tell you some thing is round what am I talking about? I bet you cannot guess.

I doubt that anyone completely reinstalls the game just to patch, at least i never did.

He reinstalled from scratch.

His problem is that he is using the wrong patch(es) for his version.

Easy problem, he just needs to learn to READ is all.

As soon as he does and VERIFIES what he is doing, then he will be ok. :)

Hi NeMeSiS

He has been told by several people to do precisely that. The reason being that it appears his install has been borked at some point.

I get that, but that doesnt make any sense, unless he did what pchaxor just said.

Just installing the patches ment for your game in order should not give any problems.

Hi NeMeSiS

Every factor in any install can be borked. Since we know already that his intall is borked as he has told us it is; it is the case here that his install is borked.

Since we know one of the factors in the install is borked, we need to reduce the factors to the minimum.

Since we know patches 1.02, 1.03 etc. are now superfluous having been superceeded by the subsequent 1.04 patch (it says so on the ArmA II official site) they need not be installed at all. Aelin only needs to install the 1.04 patch.

Since any one of the steps in the install could be borked it makes sense to remove 1.02, 1.03 etc. from the equation! Thus possibly fixing Aelin's bug or at the very least reducing the possibilites for the cause of the borked and bugged install by two factors. This is bug tracking 101 in any system.

*Special note for Aelin *

no man,i have installed the proper patch(es)

You should ONLY install one patch; there are no longer "patch(es)" you must only install ArmA II then install the 1.04 Patch only.

The official update for ARMA 2 game version 1.00-1.03 to version 1.04.

As you can see it will update from version 1.00 to 1.04

-Are you absolutely sure you are not running any mods?

-When you installed Arma2 did you get any errors, if so: what exact errors did you get?

-When you installed patch 1.04 did you get any errors?

-Is the server you are connecting to running default 1.04 or is it running the latest beta version?

-How did you buy Arma2? What is the original version you are running (one of the DVD versions, Steam version, some other payed download version)?

If you install my tool you can check via the gamespy query the exact version of arma2 running on the server.

When you open the settings page in it, it will tell you the exact version number of Arma2 and Arma2 beta, for good results you should launch the game with the same version as the server.

If needed I can try help you out with your problem, this game is simply too good not to play because of install issues.

uninstall the game completely then run a registry cleaner app, to remove any entries that may be causing a conflict.

I can only guess that your uninstall is not removing everything.

your game and patch should install w/o issue.

Euhm do you really need to install 1.2 and 1.3?

You probably downloaded the wrong versions of those patches.

-Uninstall the game

-Remove the arma2 folder in program files

-If you are on VISTA or Win7 : check if there are any files in the virtual store folder pointing to your arma2 folder. This can be a total bitch as you might check for files ONLY in the Program Files folder and not in the Virtual Store folder.

-Reïnstall the game.

-Download upgrade 1.4, install upgrade 1.4

If you are on VISTA or Win7 and want to avoid the virtual store hassle you can simply install Arma OUTSIDE the program files folder. (e.g. in c:\Arma2)

Don't give up, it's bound to be a rather simple problem in the end ;).
