jeffroland 10 Posted August 23, 2009 I've made it to the island where you're supposed to check on a radio transmission. I killed a few bad guys by that lone house and a couple more by the radio tower itself including the sniper on top the tower . From what I've gathered from other posts, Lopetev is supposed to be here but I can't find him. I've even gone down to the small village on the island with the boat house. I still have that prisoner that gave us the tip about this task. should i turn him in first? That would be a long trek back to base then back here again. When you approch the house he will shoot at you in the firefight. If hit he will surrender to you or a member of your team. (All guards dead) Your will give him orders to follow when found. I believe the house can be entered so check inside as well. If he isn't there then you may be having a bug issue. There are reports where he has gone down into the water and become "lost at sea." Just reload a save prior to securing the mentioned area and try again. He may also be secured but a trigger has failed to active the script, requiring a reload and attempt. rekrul 7 Posted August 25, 2009 There's a boat by the shoreline there, that you might want to blow up. I always did so I never know if he actually tries to escape. He has his golden AK and blue sweatshirt, so you should be able to spot him atleast. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jeffroland 10 Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks for the replies. I guess I have killed him. There is a dead 'commander' by the house. It doesn't give any hint that it might be lopetev. I can try to load a previous game and wound him instead. I can't believe that BIA couldn't foresee this issue. Maybe the surrender isn't triggering because I'm in my bmp? It doesn't matter if you kill him at least in my experience because he can be healed by your medic. He won't actually die. I threw two grenades into a group of soldiers that he was in and I was able to get him still. The commander isn't him. He wears a blue shirt. Picture. The guy at the front of the picture is Lopotev. The only other screenshot I could find spoils the later part of the mission but I know there is another one out there of him pointing from behind a truck. BTW, I cannot enter the house. He must have ran as soon as he saw us. I guess maybe just try looking around or checking out in the water using the boat. You might be able to capture him even if he is at sea by getting out of the boat (just put your gear in the boat first). Or just reload an old save or something. jeffroland 10 Posted August 26, 2009 can't find him anywhere on the island. Both boats are here so he didn't get away that way. He could have swam away I suppose but you think they would have clued you in on that with a trigger. So, I can only assume that it's a bug and he never spawned in the first place. Damn shame cause now I'll have to revert the entire DOW because it appears that all my saves are after this has already happened although I'm quite sure I made lots of prior saves.
