How do I refuel in Dogs of War

Recommended Posts

I am finding that all my vehicles are running out of fuel. How do I refuel them?

Also how do I delete useless units and replace them with other usefull ones.

I have two vehicles missing a crew man and so they just sit there and ignore directions and I have no idea how to get them going again. I had just about captured all the towns but then my divisions started running out of fuel and suddenly enemy showed up from nowhere and started to take them back.

Not that they had them in the firstplace because all the squares were black not red. They only turned red when my squads showed up.

Also, if there are still enemy around after towns are captured why can't they be seen on the Map so they can be dealt with? Whats the point of just going back and forth capturing and re-capturing for ever?

It wouldn't be so bad if it was possible to have more units so that each town could be protected before moving on to the next one, but I haven't found a way to do that.

I'm just about ready to give up on this mission. I thought that it may have been fun but the lack of information on how to operate the game environment is making it all tooooo boring and a waist of time.

Hey developers, how about a proper manual that explains what ALL the symbols mean and ALL the games features and controls?

Also contrary to what that BI chap speaking in the Developers Diary states, I have found that the best way to complete missions so far is the Rambo go it alone way.

My team members are so stupid that they will open fire at a Tank and get everybody killed. In particular, Number 4 is the most stuipd member and no matter what you do to try to keep him from harm, he will always be the first to get himself killed. And so by telling them to Stop, Hold Fire and Go Prone and leaving them where they are, it becomes possible to complete the missions Rambo style.

What is the point of accumulating all that money if you can't buy anything with it?

Why can't I re-inforce my units with men and machines like I could in a real war.

I mean, if a soldier gets killed in a real war the war doesn't end now does it? And when squads lose men, don't they get replaced?

So if this game is suppose to be a "simulation" of real warfare then the developers should start by providing the basic facilities that a platoon or squad etc, would have available and then add all the other "smarts".

Really, when I played the demo I thought that this looked like a really great game and so I paid my money and bought it but now I think that I would rather re-play the Half-Life 2 series again. At least it ony saves when I tell it to and not every minute or less like in Dogs of War.

Sorry for the ranting but I afraid that my frustration is starting to show.

Hopefully BI will make this game playable.

Cheers,

Luke.

It does for him. I would think they would also remove the team from battle. They were used to operating with 5 men and if they only have 3 or less than I doubt they will do much good.

I don't even know why you are bothering to capture towns. If you kill and/or replace their leaders then the war ends. Think about that one.

The only things I bought in the entire mission were two hinds and that was only because I mean't to buy only one but my game was lagging.

You don't have to capture all the towns to win. I captured 3 myself, 2 of which I only captured because they were on the way to the 3rd.

I have given you many hints on how to beat it.

About refueling... maybe try building service points? or buying refuel trucks and sending them out to your troops.

And that doesn't cause a different ending?

Sometimes you can rearm at strongpoints, but its glitchy (surprise).

Honestly, I am not sure. But I did get:

The CDF now control all of Northern Chenarus

at the end and a nice cutscene.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the replies.

I will try to build some strong points at the towns we take. I really would like to end the mission with all the towns in hand if possible???

But how do I order a supply truck to refuel a vehicle? Does an icon appear that says "Refuel that vehicle"? They never stay still long enough.

Also I hope I haven't offended any real armed forces members by any of my earlier comments. I only make them with respect to the issues within this make believe environment.

Of course in a real war real soldiers tragically die and do not ever come back and I honour them for their sacrifice.

My last question. Is there a way to re-enforce units?

Cheers,

Luke.

Another refuel option. Drive up to any gas station on the map. They seem to have fuel for whatever you may be driving.

Yes I can do that if I'm driving, but the vehicles that are out of fuel are being driven by the AI force?

Anything on re-enforcing units?

Cheers,

Luke.

Build a LT. Vehicle factory and buy a Fuel Truck to transport fuel to the frontlines. Can buy Ammo and Repair units also.

To disband units: Select the unit(s), hit 0 > 8 > disband selected units.

(I think that's the number path, may be off and may need to search a bit if so)

WARNING: Don't disband units in your base! I bought some tanks and supply trucks and was crewing them up. I disbanded some units and they jumped in all my new vehicles and drove off with them to attack the enemy.

If you can buy fuel trucks and empty tanks in dogs of War then you must be playing a very different version to me.

If I buy any heavy vehicle it comes fully crewed, the only truck I can buy is the open Ural equivalent.

Are you talking about "real" Warfare in a Dogs of War thread ? :)

Drive the vehicle to any captured town's "main" point, disembark and you'll have an action that says "Repair + Rearm + Refuel + Heal", which surprisingly does all of those things, for a price of course. :P
