Team control

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm trying to complete A2 Badlands but am finding it almost impossible to affectively control my team. I cannot find a way to just instruct them to TAKE COVER. I can get them to Stop where they are, go here and there, BUT they always just stand up waiting to get killed. Also one particular member seems to be an absolute fool and always gets killed.

It seems that the enemy AI is much smarter than the Team AI.

Also, why do injured team members always crawl away when you're trying to give them first aid? You have to keep chasing them in order to get the first aid * to stay long enough to press Return key.

Can anyone give me a few clues on how to proceed please? I must admit it's getting a bit boring with such stupid team members.

The developers said that the "Go it alone Rambo method will not work" but this is the only way I have managed to capture the objectives so far.

I take my team to a safe spot, tell them all to Stop and not Fire and then I go and kill the enemy alone, one by one.

Whenever I have tried to use the team, they just keep getting shot one by one, because there isn't sufficient controls to keep them safe.

One I get shot then the new Actual can give the tactic commands I wanted to give but couldnt.

Suggestions please....

Cheers,

Luke.

You can get your team to go prone and other positions by selecting them and then pressing the 7 key. I think it's that one but all the number keys do something...just click away and you'll figure it out.

Thank you for your reply Jayb.

I thought I saw those commands in there somewhere but I couldn't seem to find them when I needed them.

I will keep trying though.

Just another question if I may?

Is there a way to heal team members so that they are fully able again?

They keep asking for help after I have given them first aid but I can't find any way to give more help? It's as if the first aid isn't enough?

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Luke.

Only one guy of the team is a corpsman/medic. Search the action menu 6 of an injured unit or the medic one's for a healing action.

Hi Trapper. Thanks for your reply.

I tried to find the healing action but I just can't see it. However I got the red team member icons to return to normal after I asked them to report their status. Number 1's icon is still red however and I can't see any way to restore it to normal.

I think I've got a lot more reading to do but I'll stick at it. I just think A2 a great challenge.

Cheers,

Luke

Push the F4 button which is your corpseman. Then direct your crosshairs over the guy that needs healing and push left mouse button (this is the easiest way to do it). OR push F4 or whatever the button for the medic is then push number 6 and push heal (whatever the unit that needs healing is)

THERE IS WAY , it just takes time. A good way of learning is go into editor and build a small group of units , a medic, rifleman, machine gunner etc etc , build a few enemies over a hill or something a little way away and practise your commands in battle until you know where everything is in your command list. Plus its fun too.

F4 to select medic, then 6 for action menu and you should see the name of the guy needing healed on the list, save you having to point.

Yelling DANGER at them from space>7 menu seems to stop them getting cut down quickly too especially when you combine it with a crouch or prone stance.

Hi All, Thanks you very much for the help. It worked.

I have just given up in Badlands although I may go back to it later.

I captured the three main towns and am protecting the small village as asked to do.

Had to go and fin the bad guys as they didn't seem to want to come into the town.

The reason I have given up on it for now is that after killing all the individual enemy solders, I cannot kill the enemy APC and the Map does not show the APC's correct position. Although I can escape to ambush another day, my team always cops it.

One of the team never does what I tell him to do. I say regroup and he just stays where he is. He is in a porne position and never moves. Therefore the APC eventually fined him and that's it. I can't get past that point.

The problem with the map not showing the corect status is the main problem. I can't see how to command my team when the map shows the APC far away but when I issue a move order, BANG, it right on top of us. You just can't win like that and so what's the point of it?

Has anyone else come across this kind of issue?

Thanks again,

Luke

There are 2 injury levels...

One is solved by providing first aid...

The other is solved by healing at a medical tent...

Some injuries ares solved by first aid others need the tent for complete healing.

Thank you for the information Kramxel. Is this important fact documented anywhere?

Cheers,

Press backspace and then the key left of 1. Not on the keypad. Backspace will bring up the menu for all the action menus and the key next to nr1 will select your whole team.
