mikael23 10 Posted July 28, 2009 Hello. When I run Arma2, it has a very slow performance. My computer is an: Acer Aspire 7520: Processor: 2.1 GHz Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS Ram: 4GB Harddisk: 320GB only 80 GB used. I bought Arma2 the 27th july 2009. I am very disappointed with its performance. My computer should be able to run almost every game on the highest quality able. I have installed the newest driver for my graphic card and disabled Physx. Please help, I really don't know what more to do. Thanks Mikael
hotel 10 Posted July 28, 2009 Im sorry to tell you this but Arma2 has huge open worlds with a lot of interaction and cpu intensive features that a 2.1 ghz processor will struggle with. Wait for the patch to see if it will help but all in all i think you might want to consider a better computer if this game is to be your main form of entertainment. Defunkt 431 Posted July 28, 2009 My computer should be able to run almost every game on the highest quality able. Sorry, but you are deluded. Have a look at where your CPU and GPU chart (i.e. barely on the chart). You don't buy a notebook to play cutting edge games.

I just bought my girlfriend a Cyberpower custom laptop built for gaming with more stats then yours but I respect its limits and wouldn't expect it to run a game like ARMA II. Theres no way your 2.1 would work.

cid_gen_bondorf 0 Posted July 29, 2009 I'm surprised that the game even started up. I tried installing it on my second PC (I have Steam version) for my dedicated server and the game won't even start up properly. My second PC has an AMD X2-4200 and a Geforce 6800. But it runs the server fine. This game uses an extreme amount of resources. If you drop all the settings and play it, the game probably won't look as good as ARMA1. I just had to drop $260 in my PC to upgrade to the Q9550 CPU.
kklownboy 43 Posted July 29, 2009 ..Theres no way your 2.1 would work. heck his laptop 8600gs, is just a 7600gt, if that...maybe more like a 6600 with pretend dx9 bolted on... ---------- Post added at 09:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 AM ---------- Sorry, but you are deluded. ICE-Raver 10 Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) I have a 6 month old Asus G-Series gaming laptop with better processor and video card. I use it on the road to play RTS games like World In Conflict and C&C. It plays them maxxed out rather well and I would not even CONSIDER trying to play arma 2 with it. Sorry man, your laptop isn't even close to being high enough spec for this game. Edited July 29, 2009 by ICE-Raver

axure 10 Posted July 30, 2009 mikael23, your machine is mostly okay, but the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS is a very crappy card. It is by no means sufficient to run modern games in highest quality - and hardly sufficient to run Arma2 at all.
Bulldogs 10 Posted July 30, 2009 It's very unfortunate but they are correct. Your processor and your gfx card will struggle to run Arma 2 on the lowest settings. You can try playing on 800x600 resolution (set 3d resolution the same), that may be able to pull something off but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.
nyran125 10 Posted August 1, 2009 sorry mate, those specs are 3 years old. I have a 8800 GTS 512mb card and i have to run game on medium settings. The reality is your hardware is 3 to 4 years old just like my specs and i have to upgrade my comp i wont be till next year because my specs still run this game at 35 fps its not too bad. Just think of what the developers specs would be making this game.
