Aculaud 0 Posted March 16, 2002 does anyone know if the Black Op has better camo at night than the Black Op Day, or do they just look different?
Mister Frag 0 Posted March 16, 2002 You can test that easily in the Mission Editor, but basically, the Black Op guy has a black uniform, while the Black Op (Day) guy has a camo uniform. Which of the two stands out more depends on the environmental conditions, but just as in real life, the black uniform may be darker than the surrounding area, and stand out more than even the Black Op (Day) camo. A medium gray is best at night; the only time black is a perfect match is in the absence of any light, and in that case you could be wearing pink, and nobody would know the difference. Also, regular shapes tend to stand out to the human eye, while irregular camo patterns blend in.

DaCrytter 0 Posted March 16, 2002 Seems like a crawling black op is virtually invisable at night, but then so is any ordinary soldier as well. You have to get very close to ppl in the dark for them to see you if you are prone.
kegetys 2 Posted March 16, 2002 All the blackop guys have camouflage value of 0.7, and normal soldiers have 1.0... So in the AI's eye, it doesnt matter if you use the day or night blackop guy.
