twisted 128 Posted July 7, 2009 Hi In arma2 while making a missioni have recently noticed white ID circles around civilians chests, red circles around OPFOR and green around BLUFOR. Oh, and animals also get a white circle which makes for saintly looking chickens. why are these halos/circles there? they destroy the necessity to recognise friend vs foe and worse act like easy aiming guides - just aim at the red circles even if you can't actually see the guy. where did these come from? how can i get rid of them? how can i disable them via settings in my missions? ahmedjbh 0 Posted July 7, 2009 I have also noticed this. I have an ati 4890. I wonder if the AI can see the circles, and hence see through objects. As I can see the circles through objects...
maxter 10 Posted July 7, 2009 You should be able to turn it off in the difficulty settings. But yes it's overdone and immersion killing.
maturin 12 Posted July 7, 2009 Aren't those only supposed to show up on the corners of the screen to substitute for peripheral vision?
Mavrocket 10 Posted July 7, 2009 Those Halos are a form of Target Marking used in the Recruit difficulty level or if you manually turn them on in the custom difficulty settings. Play on Regular or turn them off manually to rid yourself of them. It's that simple!

Not sure what setting to turn off in difficulty to remove these halos. Could you be more specific as to which setting to change?
no use for a name 0 Posted July 7, 2009 turning off friendly/enemy tags should do it. I think you'll still get the white (unknown/civilian) circles on the edge of your scree as it's supposed to simulate peripheral vision
