Steam will checksum the files and automatically re-download the ones you broke.

And TBH if I made games and invested so much time and money into a project I would try and make it as hard as I could to stop ppl ripping off my investment.. Should cars not have alarms and secutiy measures ? Will security measure STOP piracy ... no will it slow em down..sure.. will it make some people buy the game instead of ripping of the company that invested a good amount of $$ into the product..sure Lets face it, people that pirate software are lame. TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted July 3, 2009 WAAAAAAA I FAIL Look, Steam has always been self updating. Annoyingly so in fact, I keep noticing it doing things in the background and then it pops up saying "BLAH game has finished downloading". Either you have never ever used steam before (in which case I apologise) or you've realised how silly you are and now you're trying to look less so by moaning on the forum. I admit you are right about there being no warning on that page though. That said, you really shouldn't patch steam games... That's a bit of "built in" PC knowledge that should be stored in your head next to "don't turn off your spyware/antivirus/firewall while downloading porn".
