Jackdaniels 10 Posted July 1, 2009 I am trying this game on windows 7, but can only play the game in a windows screen. I cannot get it to play in a full screen unless I set the resolution to 1920 x 1200, and I know that resolution would be a kill off any decent fps. When I try any lower resolutions this is when my screen changes to a window view. I have a Geforce 260 GTS with the latest window 7 driver installed, but how do I run this game in full screen on any of the ingame resolutions.
Jackdaniels 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Since this has gone to page 3 without relpy, I now feel the need to bump the thread. I know people are using windows 7 to play this game, so how do I fix this issue? Or are you already playing in full screen without the need to fix anything? Placebo 29 Posted July 2, 2009 Win7 and fullscreen for me no problem.
bushlurker 46 Posted July 2, 2009 Windows 7 is fine fullscreen for me too... I actually tried all three... Win7, Vista and XP... it's all oh-so hardware dependant I think - in my case there was no real difference between them.... Back to your problem Jackdaniels - I noticed some discussion about "windowed mode" here including Paragraphic mentioning that he can't seem to run games in anything other than window mode... Not sure if its a similar issue to yours but its the nearest I've heard of on the forums recently... Sorry we don't seem to be so much help - so far - but its an unusual problem I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere so far... B
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted July 2, 2009 Are you using a Flat Panel? If so, try the Nvidia Flat Panel Scaling options. Mine defaults to "Use my display's built in scaling". With Vista I had to "Use Nvidia scaling", which with W7 that option gives me an ugly boarder around the edge.
HOPEnSPIRIT 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Weird one you got there i just dropped my system right down to 640x480 and it works fine, never ask me to do this again! it looked like OFP graphics. Messing about some more have not been able to reproduce the issue SORRY!
paragraphic l 2 Posted July 2, 2009 I 'can' play in fullscreen but after a while my systeem reboots itself... happens since day 1 I got it... but never found what was the issue, I still think it's a too low PSU but it's a total different case than this. I'm downloading the WIN7 RC atm but I can't help you untill then with this problem. It's strange though, ingame it does let you select resolutions? it doesn't say windowed mode? Bulldogs 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Can I ask which release you are using. I only ask because I have the German DVD retail and the English Steam version. In the German version I can only use -windowed to start the game in windowed mode, but Steam asks me which mode I wish to start in. So if you are using Steam then you should be able to change it in the properties, if using DVD then have a look in the config file. Change your resolution to what you want it to be and change window mode to 0. If it still keeps going windowed mode then change the cfg file to what I said then make the cfg file read only so Arma can't change the value.
[kh]jman 49 Posted July 2, 2009 Make sure you are not running -window in the startup line. Try editing your ArmA2.cfg (in C:\Documents and Settings\[ProfileName]\My Documents\ArmA 2\ Try setting the following: Resolution_W=1680; Resolution_H=1050; Render_W=1680; Render_H=1050; I see your monitor is native 16:10 so here's a handy reference I made some time ago ;) You should get better frame rate with any of these below 1920x1200 [link]
Bulldogs 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Sorry, one more thing that just popped in my head. If you are trying to put it in a resolution that is not set to the size of your screen it could have a problem with the aspect ratio. Try changing the aspect ratio in game to see if it changes to full screen at any stage.
