Inflict_mapper 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Hello everyone. I've been waiting for this game a long time! My hopes and dreams are being dashed on the rocks of software instability right now! I can usually get 5 - 10 mins of gameplay on any setting, high or lowest... my machine is capable. However, after that amount of time the game just locks up completely and I have to system reset. Occasionally I get ERROR : Device Freed error message... but that is a rarity compared to the system lock ups. I'm running an Asus P5K3 Deluxe Mobo. CPU: Intel® Core2 Extreme CPU Q6850 @ 3.00GHz I've got 4 gigs or DDR3 (1333) RAM 30 gigs plus free on a 10,000 RPM drive I've updated everything possible. Mobo / GFX card / Patched the game etc If anyone can suggest why this might be happening I'd offer some serious gratitude. p.s. I've tried physx off and the 8 frame pre-render stuff etc etc.
S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) 8800 and ArmA 1 was like cat and dog. But currently it seems to be like <any GPU> and ArmA 2 is like cat & dog for a significant portion of customers. Upload your crashdump files. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=76670 Edited June 29, 2009 by S!fkaIaC
Inflict_mapper 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Is anyone running this game successfully with an 8800 ultra?
data-recovery 10 Posted June 29, 2009 I am running on 8800 GTX, E6600 (overclocked at 3GHZ), 4GB ram and 74GB VelociRaptor and I'm barely getting 25-30 on low settings... Your not the only one, hopefully they will patch up the performance somehow.

pauliesss 2 Posted June 29, 2009 Thats unbelievable.. what resolutions (display and 3d), view distance, etc? What OS? . Unfortunately, its true. I have overclocked 8800GTX(temp. is ok) and also overclocked CPU C2D E6850 to 3.6Ghz, 4GB RAM and also getting only around 25-27 FPS on normal settings in campaign, which means it is almost unplayable with such FPS...we just need to wait for new NVIDIA drivers and next BIS patch that will hopefully improve performance. Inflict_mapper 10 Posted June 29, 2009 I've been messing with my RAM timings, after I read somewhere, that if the game is crashing, and the sound continues, it could be a RAM issue. By changing my mem timings from 9,9,9,9 28 to 10,10,10,10 30 I got maybe 4 minutes of extra gameplay before the usual crash to black screen and sound continuing... Is this the same crash you guys experience?
nuggetz 0 Posted June 29, 2009 I run 2 8800GTX ultras in SLI and I dont experience what you're describing. After 10 minutes of play, my FPS just decrease by half, thats all. GOD!!!!! This sucks.
Inflict_mapper 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Right I think we've exhausted all options then... Looks like its over to Nvidia or over to BIS. SAVE USSSSSSSSS
Inflict_mapper 10 Posted June 30, 2009 Tried a bunch of different drivers now... no joy.
Snowwhite 10 Posted June 30, 2009 Euh sounds like overheating issue m8, check your temps (everest) I have no slowdowns with my Q6600@3Ghz/4GB/8800GTOC and play with these settings: Video and Texture: very high AF, Object and Terrain: normal Shadows: high (normal boost FPS but looks bad compared to high) Post Process disabled: who needs blurry textures a few feet away and blurs that make you dizzy and looks arcade-ish, not to mention the bloom that makes it look like a fantasy game :) AA disabled of course. Res both on 1680 x1050 and View Dist at 3000 I'm running Win 7 x64 with latest Nvidia drivers, average FPS, 30-40.
