  1. No shadows? ouch http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1341161#post1341161 World of difference to me. Playstation vs PC. I dont need all the fancy eye candy to play a military sim but I too have my limits.
  2. Of course it runs ok m8, you have visibiltiy on 1600 and shadows disabled which is an eye candy killer. I even run shadows on Very High because there is no FPS loss compared to High. Normal vs high already is a world of difference graphicaly. And with a rig like yours, ouch, better lower AA and up the other settings. I also suggest you switch to XP or 7 because Vista seems to be the worst OS to run Arma 2 on. Check my post for shadow comparison: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1341161#post1341161

    Patch 1.03 MAJOR graphic problem

Hmm, doesnt look to shabby The game might stress the card too much. If you are running overclocked try running at default speeds. I highly doubt this is software related m8. Corruption (artifacts) like this are usualy RAM related (mobo or vid) Reboot is fine because you aren't running anything yet and system cools down fast. Again, I think it's a stress factor. Good luck though m8!
  4. I noticed someone with a 285GTX has the same 2-3 FPS drop as me with Physx disabled so its not 8800GT related.
  5. I played GRAW (top game btw) with Physx on my 8800GT and had no issues. And I just tried and came to the conclusion Physx enabled performs better on my rig. Tested at the same spot multiple times and waited long enough for FPS to stay steady. Physx Disabled http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/8274/physxdisabled.png Physx Enabled http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3262/physxenabled.png So there you go m8. This shows that every system behaves differently.
  6. Hmm I highly doubt it will make a difference but I will try later. This isn't a proper fix though since other games require physx to be enabled and I do like to play another game once and a while. Thx for the info, I will try it on my 8800GT.
  7. Try forcing Vsync off in the Nvidia control panel. Post Process Disabled removes Bloom and DOF (don't know if BLUR is disabled without the vsync tweak) And pls, keep things on a mature level, after all, this is a simulation game, not pac man.
  8. I'm not on my Windows install right now but it could be that it's a nHancer feature only. I don't use the Nvidia CPL anymore anyway, better to use nHance m8 (more tweaks and better profile manager for games) Good luck n post back with update ;)

    Moveable Target Range

Fantastic, this should have been implented out of the box.
  10. This makes sniping bloody hard and its my main gameplay style.
  11. Texture Flickering is fixed in Nvidia control panel (or nHancer) by Forcing Mipmaps to Trilinear. Loading lag is mainly due to HD access I think and I also experience it (like 90% of users here probably) Hope that helps m8

    ArmA2 crash to desktop

More n more crashes here too during MP games (domination)
  13. Thank god the 8800GT still manages to keep up with the latest games. I told myself it's the last GFX card I will buy and so far I can keep my promise.
  14. Yup, same thing here, already made a thread for it. It's a killer for moving targets :(
