HDR is all messed up, Game is very dark

Recommended Posts

The HDR for me is all messed up when I am in forests or anywhere the sun gets blocked out, if I am facing away from the sun the lighting is perfect but if I turn around and face into the trees everything is pitch black you can't even see the trees they are just black along with the ground it looks really bad.

Also the HDR seems to lag a lot and if I zoom in it changes? I don't get it, really horrible worst lighting effects I have seen in a game.

Anyone know how to change the HDR effects?

They have "sorta" addressed this in a few forum posts. HDR is integral to the engine, so we won't see it turned off. Hopefully they will add settings so it can be tweaked. It's the worst use of HDR and "other" effects I've seen in a game. It's almost like they didn't play it at all.

It works perfectly here, so it has to be some weird stuff going on with different setups/gfx cards.

Anyway, there's probably a hundred threads about this already.

It is a common problem.

Does not happen for all as it seems to be related to HW, OS, ingame visual settings.

Overall its a problem in the engine and besides putting ingame brightness value up or

down depending on the situation or waiting for addons to provide a workaround for HDR

to somewhat disable it.

^^ my arma profile config minus the key bindings etc..

No texture popups, no lag unless its general server lag and link dead issues,

hosted game/mp games run at between 35 for very dense action(lots of explosions at once and lots of fires and all that jazz) to 60 fps for normal activity or slow paced city hunting of enemy etc..

Single player gaming, can guarantee 45-60fps fluctuations with 50 or 55 being the avg stable frame rate looking at any direction from low in woods to high on a hill.

No, I don't. It's just perfect on my old ATI HD2900PRO, and I really hope it still is on my new 4890 (still waiting for my CPU heatsink).
