Stuck on first mission

Hi all

I'm trying to finish the first mission in the campaign, and embarrasingly for an OFP/Arma/VBS2 vet have got stuck. However, I think it might be a bug rather than my inept playing.

In short, my squad has cleared the village, rescued several hostages, although the doctor refused to follow me to the hut and found the mass grave in the forest. Since then I have blown up the radio transmitter and headed to the evac point. After that we moved onwards, siezed a hill and then lased several targets for some heavy artillery (house, tank in hiding, moving tank).

At this point nothing else seems to happen, as if the game is still waiting for a trigger to be activated. Unfortunately, as the squad leader is not giving any more orders, and is resolutely sticking at the top of the hill the mission is now a bust.

Any ideas?

Had the some problem: after spotting all targets mission didn't end, had to re-play the mission..

Same problem here. Sat on top of hill with nothing left to do. Just had a mate tell me he's stuck at the same point too.

Maybe try going to the secop section and see if there is an option to cancel the part with the doctor. Maybe that is holding you up. Or maybe you didn't find something else important in the town *wink* *wink*

There are a few objectives earlier in the mission where you have to Regroup with your team at certain points. If any of these fail, then you will be stuck at the end waiting for something to happen after you destroy your 3 targets.

You may have to restart the mission and make sure you successfully accomplish the regroup objectives for the trigger to end the mission.

I hate to give such LAME advice but this might save you a ton of hassle later.

If at any point you've finished a mission and it wont end, you can press ctrl + (numeric) minus, let go and type "endmission" to end the mission and go to the next one.

It could be shift or something but you get the general idea.

I've had to use it on two missions so far and while its annoying it at least lets you progress.

I had the same issue, you need to pay close attention, you are told exactly what your targets are. Silly me I took out the tank on the road, that would be incorrect, that is icing on the cake, as are the silly AI running for cover!

Hello,

While waiting on top of that hill, my mission finally ended when the time reached 05:55? (Can't fully remember the exact hour, but it was 5 minutes before the invasion was due to start).

After that you see the time skipping ahead as it moves onto the second mission.

Might sound strange, but worth a try if all else fails. I only encountered this as I thought I had to wait for someone to give me the go ahead to start lasing targets. I waited 10+ minutes on the hill observing and the mission ended at **:55. Don't forget you can speed up the game time while waiting.

I had great fun dropping bombs all over town and almost started to get frustrated that it wouldn't end.. then I moved a meter to the left and saw the actual target.

Humm, strange was when my team told me that I forgot the Laser-Designator although I was sure I took it with me. However I was able to finish the mission.

1st mission: Escorting hostages, both the doctor and his girllfriend stop 30m from the hut and stand still, nothing happens after "follow me" "stay here"/"follow me" etc. Also if I blow up the radio thingy the hostage rescue objective is cancelled. 3rd time I'm trying to get them to this damn hut and I get the same results every time...

First with 1.02, then replayed the whole mission with 1.03.
