cm 0 Posted June 23, 2009 aw man there's warefare missions in the campaign? How slack! way to kill the immersion....
MBot 0 Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) So, I decided to skip the warfare missions (which feels more like a mod solution rather than well designed and carefully implemented core-gameplay), only to see a rather cheap and cheesy end sequence. If you remove the two warfare missions, which should never have gone into the campaign, and the Manhatten mission, which will forever remain in my memory as a buggy mess, what remains of the campaign? Not terribly much... Quite disappointing and a pity for the great potential. Edited June 23, 2009 by MBot
stun 5 Posted June 25, 2009 I have to admit that I am very disappointed that warfare missions were included as part of the campaign. This campaign is crying out for something similar to ofp resistance. It would have been cool to have been forced to scavenge and stockpile weapons. A system of winning over the locals be completing side missions to recruit new resistance fighters to your ranks might have been interesting. The warfare style missions are too much like command and conquer for my taste - realism went way out the door.
ampeg 0 Posted June 25, 2009 If Im honest then yes I am a little let down by the campaign, warfare missions really arent what I wanted from this game. Wasnt keen on the four man squad dynamic either, at times it almost felt more like Ghost Recon than OpFlash/Arma with small scale skirmishes instead of all out war. Bit let down with the length of the campaign/number of scenario missions as well. Having said all that I am really enjoying the game and absolutely love the sandbox type (Razor Two/Manhattan) missions. Having a great time with the MP game as well :). stun 5 Posted June 25, 2009 Despite being disappointed by what I have by the warfare elements of the campaign. I probably would have bought arma 2 just for the AI and new modules. Now if BI can sort out the performance issues and some of the more annoying bugs I think I will be content. Once CWR and the A1 addons and islands are ported into A2 I will be extremely happy. Sulu 10 Posted June 25, 2009 The campaign is very disappointing in my mind. If I wanted a special forces simulator I would go buy Call of Duty 4! I bought this game for sandbox style warfare not an invasion that lasts no more than 2 missions whereby I never see anymore than 5 enemy soldiers. I play online coop to make up for the very barely sandbox missions.
