I agree that you should not be effected by dispersion at 20-25 meters, but was that really the case in ArmA? I haven't played it for a while, but from what I remember, pistols and SMGs were way more accurate than in real life. Their bullet drop effect was not modeled correctly which made it easy to engage targets with a pistol at over 100 meters and with SMGs at over 200 meters - not something that is likely to happen in real life...

That's OFP. Armed Assault pistols are useless unless you either spend your whole magazine at one target or walk up to him and stick the barrel into his ear.

Yeah, pistols in ArmA are only really effective up to about 25m. Anything above that and you'll be spending half a clip just to hit one guy.

Provocative assertion, there is absolutely no gameplay improvement from OFP to ArmA - not talking about MP -, only better scripting commands and visual quality effects when the bugs don't kill them.

more landscape, more possible units.

That's just 2 changes from OFP to ArmA that can affect gameplay which pop out of my mind. I'm sure I'm missing more.

But, hell yeah, sure, ArmA is just OFP with redone graphics.

Let's just conveniently overlook any change of the game, because we don't like it

In ArmA I prefer Scorpion/Uzi when in buildings.

So I guess they do the job, a pistol is no arty :D
