Grodin 0 Posted May 1, 2009 1: Your processor is bottlenecking your graphics card. 2: You might have wrong drivers. You did reinstall them correctly, right? 3: What verson of arma are you using? 4: What are your ingame settings? 5: What operating system are you on? 6: Is your bios and other drivers up to date? echo1 0 Posted May 2, 2009 1: Your processor is bottlenecking your graphics card. A 3GHz Core 2 Duo is a bottleneck? Are you joking?! I'd start by uninstalling whatever drivers you have on the PC using driver cleaner, and downloading and installing the latest ones from the nVidia website. Sometimes when cards are just released onto the market, it takes the makers a while to make stable drivers for them. If the problems persist after reinstalling the drivers, just wait until the next drivers come out and install them. ArmA usually works fine with nVidia cards, and the GTX275 is much faster than your old 8600GT so there shouldnt be a problem there.

Grodin 0 Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) A 3GHz Core 2 Duo is a bottleneck? Are you joking? No, i'm not. Newest cards are bottlenecked by anything you can get from stores atm. Upgrading my 8800 to 280gtx did not give any FPS boost in ArmA until i upgraded my 3.2ghz x2 to 3ghz phenom 940, and performance increases were noticeable all the way to 4ghz. With a GTX 275, he should be getting from 50-90 fps depending on a lot of factors including settings, not 7. Something is totally jacked up. Its a bit out there, but download GPU-Z and make sure that your PCI-E "speed" is at the full 16X. I had a problem with this once and I had to use the extra connectors that make use of molexes instead of the 6 or 8-pin connectors.

Could also be in a "wrong" pci-e slot.
