Soviet Megapolis island screens(wip)

hi everyone!

i am working on biggest city in the ofp

here is some screenshots:

Looks good, very eastern bloc! Reminds me of the game Republic: The Revolution.

I wonder about it's playability though, in terms of lag and AI?

almost no lags at low view distances

(about 600- 1300)

with max texture sizes 512x512

even with the street traffic generator

about AI

if squads joined by script(not F2 in editor) there is no problem

yes i am created few old soviet buildings

and the soviet office building(fully functional)

also i am making the campaign for this island(or this island was created for the campaign:D)

about adventures of the kgb agent in '91

This looks ace.. how does the AI handle the pathfinding?

i use "trafiicgenerator" by Flea

half of drivers moves good other half not so good(crashes etc)

much worse then in GTA:p

but OFP is OFP

in arma drivers are more dumb:D

I understand that... :D

What I meant to ask was how infantry handled it? Do they bunch up?

i tested on island russian militia against gangsters(MIB by Ivan Buchta)

they fights perfectly

i think infantry can no fight worse then these guys

I think what every one's concern is the "AI Pathway". Like the early SEB island and BAS Tonal AI have trouble manuvering and keeping in formation. If you have pathed your island well it would make all more comfortable in trying it.

i keep roads too far from buildings (pavements is not listed as roads )

also my custom roads is visually more wide then its functional coordinates

so i think it can help

unfortunately i don't have time to test troops movement in town because campaign making takes my all free time

(campaign is not military at all)

i wanna finish it before arma2 coming:)

but full version appears only in arma2

have no interest to polish it in ofp:D

some bugs will remain

city is VERY HUGE

also here is some villages

one smaller city(near airport)

secret area "Zone 51"(soviet UFO researching base or something like this)

military polygon(also used for civil defence trainings)

military base

river port

sea port

airport

vacation area

and other..

He never said iy was going to ARMA2, he just said he wanted to get a beta out before it came out.

beta is fully playable

but some districts have bugs

such as mismatch of pavements also missing buildings and fences etc

sounds like not "completing" it for the OFP engine to me, maby the smiley supose to make it a joke?.

Arma 2 give the many possibilities to create soviet big town then ofp

without side addons

megapolis contains 50-100 Chernogorsks by it's size:butbut:
