Tailgate 0 Posted February 25, 2009 Hi All, Any thoughts on the overlord voice command system in Tom Clancy's End War? I've just been playing and although I think the game itself is a bit poor, the overlord command system is simply spectacular. If this could be implemented into ARMA somehow I think this would add a whole nother dimension to the game anyone know what excatcly is involved in a system like this? Or any thoughts from BI on it? Cheers all.
TankCommander 3 Posted February 25, 2009 I remember there being an addon somewhere for this sort of thing but that was quite a while ago... Cool idea tho and it would be great if there was an option like this but I also think that Arma could benefit from some better AI control using traditional systems. Hopefully in the Arma2 expansion we get this
max power 21 Posted February 25, 2009 Can you explain what the overlord system is so the rest of us know what you're talking about?
NoRailgunner 0 Posted February 25, 2009 Imo roughly said developers collect ~50 (command) words from many languages around the world and implement them including combinations. Think that its not easy to get a very good voice recognition and proper working command system with customisable commands. I would prefer more (AI) improvements + features before making a real good ingame voice system.
TankCommander 3 Posted February 25, 2009 Yeah I agree with you here. But with that said, it would be a nice touch to be able to simply blurt out 'alpha flank left' just as you would with human players and get similar results. The tech is there. It just needs to be implemented.
andersson 285 Posted February 25, 2009 I used a voice recognition program in OFP, I havent done it in arma though as I mostly play coop with human players only. Here is an old thread about this.
