Lepardi 0 Posted February 13, 2009 The animations for soldiers standing still needs a reworking. When they stop it looks really unnatural, perfectly straight sticks planted to the ground, like some statues. Will it be fixed for final version?

Brendon 0 Posted February 14, 2009 I had the same exact post on the second page, but I still agree. Same goes for Civilians.
Maio 293 Posted February 14, 2009 Agreed ... make the transition from walking to full stop more smooth
Murtok 0 Posted February 14, 2009 I like the current "rest" posture seen in the latest preview videos. However, I agree that the transition is unnatural. To improve the fluidity from running or walking to a full stop, a middle animation could be in between moving and stopping which would only be active right after a full stop. The middle animation would, then, time-out after a set period. At this point, the "at ease" animation would take over. This animation could make the soldier appear to still be "on alert" for a few seconds right after running or fast walking. At the end of the animation the soldier would lower his weapon below horizon but keep it at the "ready" position while standing at rest. I've timed myself and come to the conclusion that this should only be around a 3 second animation.
SaBrE_UK 0 Posted February 14, 2009 Is there any way of modding in extra animations currently? A 'slow down' animation would add to the gameplay for the player and when aiming at other soldiers. Perhaps with the new Arma II animation system, it wouldn't hinder the player so much.

Perhaps with the new Arma II animation system, it wouldn't hinder the player so much. well, actually in the current state or ARMA (1), when you're on prone and you double-tap the W button, there's pure hot animation from getting up to running and it is pretty fluid while holding the button. so... sparks50 0 Posted February 15, 2009 Yes. I wonder how many ambushes has gone bad and people have fallen off rooftops because of that long and unstoppable animation?
Lou Montana 101 Posted February 15, 2009 Yes. I wonder how many ambushes has gone bad and people have fallen off rooftops because of that long and unstoppable animation? QFT ^^ but this anim is indeed one of the best through the game (with the "sprint-to-lying anim" ) At least you die with pure style
