I present addon the PKW_Fokker VIII v1.0  aircraft from the First World War. This is my first model airplane so please understand wink_o.gif - I would like also to thank the CSJ and Vilas for the valuable assistance and support for the creation of the addon. smile_o.gif

bug1: flying needle

you cannot see it really, yet easy to repro

not sure if you can fix that. seems like an alpha issue or sth.

bug3: bullets coming from the center/cursor.

maybe you can make a dual fire like Sakura in her MH6

its only configs and model points.

lol, me too  biggrin_o.gif

Only reached a speed of 45 using the full sahranian paved runway, no chance to get the rear wheel off the ground crazy_o.gif

edit: 'Any other' plane has flaps and stands in a horizontal fashion on it´s wheels. Those old flying boxes need you to press the nose down during takeoff to get proper airflow and less friction from rear wheel ...

I started normally, even with grassy

runway on Rahmadi or beton runway on Sahrani

Like i said, it didnt go faster than 45 on a paved runway  whistle.gif

Using xbox controller, no turbo.

edit: just tested with keyboard steering, fingers glued onto shift and pgUP, Ramadi runway, still no joy. At the end of the track i was just getting to 47

Other than that it´s a really cool addon! I like WW1 planes  inlove.gif

To take off, you must keep the nose down, so that the tail doesn't touch the ground! smile_o.gif Only then will you be able to reach speeds higher than those bloody 45 km/h... I learned this the hard way biggrin_o.gif

Anyway, beautiful plane, hoping for some more WWI stuff wink_o.gif

LOL ... the game doesn't have too many "tail-draggers", I was wondering why people were complaining about not being able to take off ! tounge2.gif

Just like in the real-world, half way down the runway, you lift the tail off the ground (nose down), then once you get more speed you lift the nose up.

No this is no critique - addon is EXCELLENT.

but me and a clanmate setup small missions to test addons on-line and well, we often fly flight sims like Il2 or Lockon so we knew about the "Drag nose down" but THE TAIL WHEEL WONT LIFT!

IT JUST STAYS ON GROUND!

You must learn to fly in Arma.I am flying, start and landing without problems. (I use the keyboard and mouse). Another case that the system of flight in Arma is strange, and at the beginning of very difficult. regards - Yac

has it anything to do with difficulty settings?

I can pilot the Harrier very well, start and Land without problems, even hovering (VTOL) i can use.

It´s funny because the camel does it just fine while the fokker only puts on a nasty grin and keeps the tail down. I´m well aware of how to start those things in ArmA.

@ZorboZ: How about a nice cup of tea while we´re waiting for some understanding?

Well unless you get out of your stubbornness and see that something is wrong, the fokker wont find many users regarding the 3-4 guys just from this thread who are having problems with it already. We´re not here to bash your skills or talk rot about your addon ... it´s just what it is, a bug sad_o.gif

Some more things i noticed:

- oil needle jumps out of it´s gauge once the plane lifts off the ground (actually its falling from teh runway hill rather than lifting off..grrr)

- cockpit model is semi transparent / runway texture normal map can be clearly seen whilst taxiing around

- rpm never goes higher than 4700

And to prove that im not making up anything of this: Video showing the mentioned bugs (50mb)

Yes, AI also seem to have trouble taking off.

Maybe the model is too heavy and/or the Center of Gravity is too far backwards.

The BI Camel only weighs 1566kgs and the CoG is just in front of Pilot (see sample p3ds from BI)

i fixed your config. use this one:

put this in a file called model.cfg:

put the model.cfg in your addon main/root folder.

note the two

you need to define the plane class fully in cfgmodels/cfgsekeltons.

just copy the plane class from a BI model.cfg from sample models like

at least i think though. maybe only class default needs to

be fully defined though.

anyways in return are you up to up to release an update with

these fixes as well as binarizing the addon?

otherwise maybe you are okay to let someone else do it and

release the update or sth like that?
