Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 4, 2002 After playing a single player mission, I go back to the main screen. When I try to access the single mission menu again, the book opens but it is blank. Instead of the Play and Cancel options I get ' ERROR - replace ' Whats going on here? This has never happened before I updated my PC. I went from an Intel celeron 400 mhz processor to an Athalon 1.7 ghz. I also updated my RAM from 64mb to 256mb of DDR RAM. My graphics card is still a VooDoo 3. Also, every time when I get killed and hit the Replay button, I start the new mission off with a standard loadout instead of the weapon and # of mags/grenades I chose. I thought it might have been caused by an unnofficial mod/addon, so I did a complete uninstall of OFP and reinstalled without the mods/addons. I still have the same problem. I am currently at 1.30. Also. Evertime I click the link for OFP on my main screen (Win 98) instead of starting up smoothly, it goes to the 'OPFlash Preferences' screen and I have to start from there. Another thing. After I did my reinstall, I found OFP playing new music, stuff I havent heard before, on the main screen of OFP. There is also music when I hit certain triggers in a few missions, like when I steal the UAZ in the first mission of the Single Mission mode. Weird...... Can anyone help?? theavonlady 2 Posted March 4, 2002 That bit about the music has me thinking. Did you recently install that new Desert Storm mod from Italy?
theavonlady 2 Posted March 4, 2002 /bump I hope I got to you before you feed yourself to a polar bear or slash your wrists with ice hockey skate blades.

If you choose your weapons from briefings, and press 'ENTER' key instead of clicking on 'Start' with your mouse, this happens for some reason. Try it with SP mission 'Steal the car'. If you want to restart your game from SP with weapon of your choice, click 'Start'. else, it will revert back to default weapons.
Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 5, 2002 Thanks Ralph, I'll give that a try. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Are you back in business? Random 0 Posted March 5, 2002 Just to let you know, I think there should be music playing when you steal the UAZ in the first mission. There always is in my game anyway. About your problem... I don't suppose you feel like formatting your hard drive? I have no idea why it would be happening, but if it's still doing it after a format it would tell you if your CD is borked. Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 6, 2002 How do I do that? Do you mean de-frag? Or erase everything on my hard drive and start from scratch? </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">there should be music playing when you steal the UAZ in the first mission. I noticed that sometimes musics play, but I really don't have time to care for it. just get the da-mn car and run for it.

Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 7, 2002 Hmmmm, I tried the camapin mode. I cant play more than one mission in it. When it trys to load a new mission I get an error message. Something like : (can't load worlds/abel) I checked the folder and the 'abel' folder is there but it wont load. I am going to re-format my hard drive over the March break with the help of my sister's boyfriend, he knows what he's doing. If I still have the problem, I will contact BIS. Thanks Tyler

Assault (CAN) 1 Posted March 24, 2002 /bump I did a complete re-install of Windows 98 and eliminated all my old Windows files. Problem solved! I can play OFP again! I don't know what it was in Windows that did it, but there was a problem that caught my eye recently. Something to do with the 'Zupdate' file not being able to run. It sounded like it was what was casuing my problems so I fixed it and voila! The only new problem is that the ground texture has all but dissapeared, the ground texture looks worse no matter how high I set the resolution. Any ideas? Thanks, Tyler
