runningmovies 0 Posted March 3, 2002 I have a Voodoo 5 video card and I know it`s getting old and am thinking of get a new one. I saw a good deal on a ATi Radeon 8500 (64 MB), and what I want to know is if anyone out there has this card and if it is any good. If you could tell me if it is better than what I have now. Thanks
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted March 4, 2002 You will have problems with driver support with this card. Wait until the proper Ge-Force 4 comes out, then you can get a Ge-Force 3 for a bargain.

Thanks<span id='postcolor'> The Ati Radeon 8500 is very good, it is better then the GeForce3Ti500. But soon the GF4Ti4600 (and 4400 and 4200) will be released, and the 4400 and 4200 will be cheaper then the ATI Radeon and also they will be better. The Ti4600 is the best card available, but the prize lies somewhat higher. If i was you, i would wait for the GF4ti4600 or Ti4400. I myself have GF2 GTS Deluxe, and wante3d to buy GF3Ti500. But i saved all my money, so when the GF4Ti4600 is released i will buy him. I read an article about the 3D blaster from creative based on this chipset and it is outstanding. The only lowdown on this card they had was that it is so good, most of it's specs aren't used...yet. But i will make a sacrifice for this card. I only eat drie bread and drink milk. I'm a student with little money, but i must have this card

InqWiper 0 Posted June 5, 2002 Whatever you do, dont buy Creative Blaster 4. I have it and I still cry myself to sleep It sucks, it works with 1.30 but not with 1.46. The graohics look weird on the theing that pops up when U insert the CD in the CD-ROM at any version but at 1.46 U cant play it cuz the game freezes within 10 seconds.
