sparks50 0 Posted March 15, 2009 Could you make the resolution for windowed games in "launch game" menu be saved for each session, so that the player wont have to re-enter the resolution for each time the launcher is started? I also get some random crashes when querying the servers in favorites.
Yoma 0 Posted March 15, 2009 Could you make the resolution for windowed games in "launch game" menu be saved for each session, so that the player wont have to re-enter the resolution for each time the launcher is started? I also get some random crashes when querying the servers in favorites. -The crashed are related to pinging the servers, also having a favorite list like that is something that's not really provided in gamespy, (you have to query on a name basis and that's rather dodgy) -In beta 1.0.1 resolution is saved (the latest version out today) when launching the game. It is however saved on a per server basis. Might just add a "save" button later on, so you don't have to launch to save setting.
lt.chris 0 Posted March 17, 2009 well done yoma, this is a great setup since your last version (2008) However i do have a few suggestions, I feel that the UI is alittle hard to navigate, and proberly needs to be totally re-done. Maybe use a simular one to your previous version possibly?
Yoma 0 Posted March 17, 2009 What would you guys like most a) Deploy via clickonce like the older tool (easy auto updates of the tool itself, but has it's own issues) b) Deploy via installer (more advanced setup possibilities, however not so easy to auto update) c) Deploy via zip/.7z file (no setup at all, hard for noobies) d) All three previous options, but do realise that this option vastly increments the amount of deployment mishaps that can be made both on my side and on user side. i0n0s 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Only b & c? c has to update manual since you shouldn't leave any infos on the pc aside that folder.
sparks50 0 Posted March 18, 2009 I haven't had a crash since 1.0.2! Good job I miss a "quick launch" option for the times I just want to quickly start some mods for singleplayer.
Yoma 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Only b & c?c has to update manual since you shouldn't leave any infos on the pc aside that folder. The problem with manual updates is that they tend to not happen. This makes it hard to fix critical bugs timely and often leads to support overhead.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Make one for the noobs (simple oneclick installer+autoupdater) and one for the clever people (who knowsabout the zip thingy and can use advanced features)!

Maybe use a simular one to your previous version possibly? This is near impossible (or simply too much work). You have to realise that it's an all NEW project. It's not a upgrade of the older one, it's new from scratch. The added gamespy functionality requires a different interface and somehow i think the new interface is a lot cleaner then the older one. Try getting used to it because it's very likely to stay the way it is.
Yoma 0 Posted March 19, 2009 I haven't had a crash since 1.0.2! Good job I miss a "quick launch" option for the times I just want to quickly start some mods for singleplayer. Just toggle the local game tickbox. However you will still need an addonset...
