wika_woo 182 Posted October 7, 2008 Will this game run on these specs AMD Turion 64 x2 (laptop) Nvidea Geforce GO 6250 With Windows Vista?... Thanks..
ShrubMiK 0 Posted October 7, 2008 What model of Turion, exactly? How much RAM? I can tell you how ArmA runs on my single-core turion 1.67GHz laptop with Radeon X700 Mobile gfx (which I think is probably better than the nvidia 6250, if I remember my gfx card history correctly) and 1GB RAM... ...not very well! ArmA is not multithreaded so you won't get as much benefit form a second CPU core as you would like, or might expect. I would have said Vista vs. XP shouldn't make much of a difference to performance one way or the other, maybe a percentage point or two, not worth worrying about. Except that Vista requires a bit more RAM to run itself, so if you are already short of RAM (which you probably are on an old laptop!, Vista will mean even less RAM for the game, which is only going to make things worse. I do use my laptop to run dedicated server sometimes, and it seems to cope well enough with that much.
wika_woo 182 Posted October 7, 2008 Oh sorry, it is 1GB of RAM
Mr_Tea 0 Posted October 7, 2008 I´m afraid the GeForce Go 6250 can`t handle ArmA at all. You should try the ArmA Demo to see what happens, but don`t expect to much.
wika_woo 182 Posted October 7, 2008 Well, I could just use my ArmA disc and install it .. It's just that i've had mega bad hardware issues with my proper gaming pc and i was just wondering really.. I could always get OFP again lol..

ModaFlanker 0 Posted October 9, 2008 Turion is AMD version of Celeron... with small caches. ArmA likes a fast CPU... So you may need to keep many settings as low as possible.. and see what you can bump up that doesn't slow you down. If playing multiplayer it would most likely run better on small servers as opposed to the bigger ones...
