Cobra help!!

I have got to a mission in single player where I am a Cobra pilot providing air support with an AI in the gunner's seat.

I did a search for any sort of tutorial for Cobra's & couldn't find anything.

How do you fly, & what do you have to do for the AI to engage targets?

Switch to manual fire and lock them up yourself. You'll have much better control over firing (other than the cannon which the ai can use when you get in range). I would leave the hellfires to you to fire but don't waste them on trucks and low value targets, that's about the only time the gunner is any good with the cannon.

tab selects targets. if you don't want to get shot down fly fast or fly low.

In arma, each character (including the one controlled by the player) has AI determining what he has and has not noticed. Sometimes something is obvious to the player, but not obvious to the AI representing his awareness. For instance, being in a cobra reduces your likelihood of spotting enemy troops. If you can't spot them, you can't call them as targets to your AI gunner. So, what you can do if you see obvious targets running around but you can't target them is hold the space bar and swing the pipper that appears over to what you want your gunner to shoot at, and hit the right mouse button.

i believe there is a Combat flying tutorial in the tutorial pack however i vaugly rember that the player is the gunner rather than the AI so excusse me if i am mistaken.

Thx, worked out you have to change weapons, then tell ai to target then fire!!
