EZ forrest idea

Does anyone know if the clutter is placed random on the map? I have an untested idea of easy-to-place forrest:

Define a number of trees as clutter on a given ground texture eg. forrest fern, paint up the mask_lco with the defined colour >> ready to use forrest!

but im unsure if the placement of clutter is local to each client and the performence hit with clutter compared to individual trees.

No it's not. Clutter has no purpose other than eye-candy. Also, clutter is only local to the player, so trees will disappear/reappear at 50m or so.

It can be done though smile_o.gif

Yeah, clutter is pure eye candy. I like to be able to see AI hidden in vegetation at medium distance, and close. If something is being generated around my position only, feels sort of fake.. It looks nice, but I can think of better things to burn FPS on.
