liljb15 0 Posted March 30, 2008 Its a future, so why they shoot with this kind of guns? It's not in the far futer it's a post apocalyptic future ussualy in a post-apocalyptic future, technology doesn't go far because nobodies researching new technology or anything, they're just trying to survive. Thunnder Bunny 0 Posted March 30, 2008 This mod reminds me of an RTS game called SOA ( Soldiers Of Anarchy ) And I loved that game http://www.soldiers-of-anarchy.com/ The mix of people and weapons really flesh out the feel of an apocalyptic world. Hope some tribal skins could be made for the vanilla BIS vehicles. Maybe a way to recover some weapons and ammo from destroyed vehicles to? Thank you agamoth, and your mod team for this cool pack. canis lupus 20 Posted March 30, 2008 the mod is supposed to be at least semi-realistic and there will be no laser guns, this is not a sci-fi mod we will keep to present day weapons I have been talking to Vilas about using his upcoming weapon pack for this mod because it offers a huge variety of weapons and I hope to get some additions of our own like the shotgun if it is possible at some point to add primitive weapons I would like to do so but thats not in any near future right now I'm working on some new zombies and mutants mostly zombies at the moment early stage zombie and some of Warhammers late stage looks
Saromus 0 Posted March 30, 2008 now THAT looks cool
Wolfrug 0 Posted April 13, 2008 Any news? I'm particularly curious about whether you're going to implement the tags or not - since if you do, that'll change all the classnames, meaning any missions made with them up to now will need to be edited. And I'm just generally curious about one of my fav addons so far for ArmA Regards, Wolfrug
m4r1ne 0 Posted April 13, 2008 Hey agamoth, I saw your zombie screens and just wanted to show you something I've done just for the hell of it about a week ago, so I am NOT making a zombie unit pack these are for my use only...if you like them you can take/edit them though. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ntzgbn&s=3 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2qc2vyr&s=
Daniel 0 Posted April 13, 2008 Not sure if i'm out of the loop here, but did you fix the lack of blood textures on your civilian militia units? Recent pics look awesome.
Delta-Force 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Hi, for the zombies I think you should convert all your fighters in zombies instead of creating new ones and add them blood textures. Check NEM zombies and swat and slx defintions. He just converted swat units and slx women in zombies. You should increase the armor of all new order soldiers because they die after one m16 round in the body. They are supposed to scare resistance units so they should be stronger. It would be very nice to think twice before attacking a patrol of 5 soldiers (Which is very easy in original Arma).
Benoist 0 Posted April 16, 2008 They are in an organized army and with better equipment but they are still human. The resistance troops are just normal guys with weapons, with few equipment and with little to no organization or reinforcements. The real problem is that it's just a game. In real life, if you have an M-16 would you shot at 5 military-trained guys? Maybe you can kill 2-3, but unless they are in open ground or a booby traped place they can flank you or just trow grenades at you.

Maybe you can kill 2-3, but unless they are in open ground or a booby traped place they can flank you or just trow grenades at you. It's exactly what I said. In Arma there is no difficulty to kill 5 guys because they lay on the ground and wait. They need time to react and to move, especially in safe mode. At the end they all die. So, if their armor is set to 3 shots, then while one of them take the 3 shots, others could move. Sure it would be unrealistic, but i think in reallife there is a little difference between a guy with an ak and a coat and a guy with a g36 and a body armor. canis lupus 20 Posted April 16, 2008 First of all I have been delayed alot because of some shadowbug that appears on all my units (look in the o2 modeling thread for details) I don't know how much I'll have to remake or change to get this running as it should @Wolfrug I can only tell you that I'll do my best not to make this more complicated for you guy's... glad you like my work by the way @m4r1ne those look good a little bright maybe but good, don't have the time to look more into zombies at the moment but when time comes I can PM you @[CAS] Daniel its not done yet but I know how to, I need to make some time consuming work on the config but it will be fixed @Delta-Force & Benoist I see both your points, I was thinking the change needs to be the accuracy, I am working om some new, new order units that will have some different clothing wich indicates lesser armor however they are still better "soldiers" so if I can make the resistance act like amateurs and the new order like pros it would be the best solution, the wasteland warriors should be harder to kill, they will be real badasses... there has been some requests about gasmasks... they are comming along pretty well no screens yet though, there will be some homemade looking ones for the resistance and wasteland warriors, then some more normal looking ones and finally some that will be turned into some HL2 looking helmets for some special new order units

HtmlSam 0 Posted April 24, 2008 hi there. my planning is to make a survival mod in arma engine a bit like stalker. im new in modding soo opinions and help are essencial. i already seen the wasteland mod and i will ask for help either. anyway the main ideia is to have a acelerated time scale in order for the player to have a sense of time. water and food will be stored in the ammo boxes soo that the player is forced to search for them to survive. 3 days without water or food is death. the more lacking of either it affects speed running and aiming. the main enemy is radiation the invisible enemy. like the compous you use a radiometer to scan your surroundings. radiative rain forces the player to search for cover. i dont know if its possible to individualize every npc, in order to have them 3 states, friend, neutral or enemy. friend of course dont shoot back, and can be bought with guns, food, water, or ammo to follow you and receive orders. neutral can go two ways, friend or enemy. enemy well shoot back and survive. the main purpuse is for the player to have a sense of isolation, paranoia and fear. collect clues to find the means to escape the island. well tell me if im nuts
Undeceived 392 Posted May 5, 2008 Hi agamoth! Thank you for the resistance units! They fit perfectly in my mission, I was waiting for units like this a long time! One thing, I could not find discussion about in this topic, is the facial expression (mimic) that unfortunately does not work. Is this known to you and is it possible to be fixed? Area51 0 Posted May 29, 2008 Hey I've been tryin to register on BI forum for a while and it finally came through, and i just wanted to say that your units are AWESOME and I cannot wait for that map I saw you were working on, I did make some sort of Fallout Mission but it isnt that good. I don't really know how to make missions and it had alot of stuff in it..anyway. keep up the good work!
Area51 0 Posted May 29, 2008 Oh and HtmlSam no you don' sound nuts, it might be extremely hard or almost impossible to make but I'm sure it can be done.
Wolfrug 0 Posted May 30, 2008 Self promotion: Anyone thinking of making any "fallout" or "stalker" or "rpg" styled (single player) missions might want to check out mah Inventory (in beta) : RUG Inventory. I more or less coded that together with these guys in mind Didn't have time to make a mission with it though, ah well. Although I guess the above WOULD require more scripting savvy than most, but then again, learning is good /self promotion Hope to see an update at some point, agamoth (blood textures e.g.), but otherwise they're still kicking tons of butt! Regards, Wolfrug
canis lupus 20 Posted May 30, 2008 I hope for an update of the object and unit packs, just the blood texture of the units for now, I'm going to get busy in real life for a while so my work will be slowed down a lot but with any luck I will have the updates withing ten days or so

Wolfrug 0 Posted June 6, 2008 yaaay! Once I get my hands back on a computer, I'll continue working on my little RPGesque mission I've got planned for these fellers... Don't give 'em up,agamoth, keep working. Especially on them blood textures. Regards, Wolfrug
Undeceived 392 Posted June 7, 2008 In my opinion the face expressions are also very important. I personally need it urgently in my mission by now... Would be great to see it soon working... Thanks, agamoth, for your work!!
