Evil_Clown 0 Posted January 27, 2008 hi i forgot how to import the heightmap properly into v3, it says "cant import image, needs to be 16bit" but i saved it in 16bit so it should work. I had this problem some months ago but since i havent been working with maps since i have forgotten how i fixed it. I think i used some kind of terraforming software to import the image and then export it into 16bit, but i cant recall what the software was called, it wasnt wilbur or terragen. It was a small .Exe file. Please help me, i need to get the heightmap into v3.

Rommel 2 Posted January 28, 2008 I had a similar problem, despite what photo shop said, a Wilbur converting to 16bit fixed all.

Przemek_kondor 13 Posted October 25, 2008 wilbur cheats with 16bit colors. This program saves images as 16bit (use 16 bit for information about one pixel) but it clips value to 8bit. So you have only 256 different values but you should have 256*256=65025. Maybe I'm wrong, but check it: create smooth terrain (hight range 0-255) with not only natural values, save as 16bit and open it. -Then you'll see every value are rounded.
